This is an absolutely beautiful story book. The illustrations and story are above and beyond normal childrens books.
The story is ultimately uplifting and happy and deals with the 'human' side of Christmas magic. It's an embodiment of what Christmas is all about. It's not a sentimental or mushy tale but it did make me cry (have a tissue ready if you're the type of personality who cried when Bambi's mum died). I don't want to spoil the story but it deals with a lone Scrooge type character who rediscovers the joy of life at Christmas time with the help of people in similar circumstances. I bought this beautiful book for my little boy when he was a couple of weeks old and love it to bits. the pictures are bright with plenty of interesting textures and the simple rhymes are so easy to repeat without looking (helpful while the little one is making the most of the crinkly pages and textures). I would thoroughly recommend it and am just about to buy others from the series.

Not only my son, but others visiting us are also fond of this book. My son especially loves planes, so it's a hit, but I must say this book is really sturdy. It isn't a flip-flap one where your baby can destroy pages, it remains. The rhyme is rhyming, the pictures are neat, the moveable parts are clever. You're not gonna be disappointed (even if you have a girl!).

This is a lovely version of this book but I find that the pop-ups distract my two 3-year olds from the story. We got this as a present, and I personally would haver prefered a plain version of the book. Also, the children find it quite difficult to get some of the animations to work and pull in the wrong direction too strongly, so that inevevitably we are seeing some wear and tear after only 2 months.

This book really helps with pen control, and is so worth the money as you can simply wipe it out and do it again and again. My son has grown out of this now but I have wiped it all off (Baby wipes are perfect) and have stored it away for when my little one is old enough to use it. It timeless and fantastic quality.
