my oldest child, now nearly 8 years old was bought this as a present for his first christmas by his Granny. My third child is now 20 months old and the book is still used every night, now held together with sellotape strips of varying age, and the pages worn with turning. The illustrations must be some of the best in children's books and the selection of nursey rhymes would be hard to beat. There are all the old favourites and lots that we have found for the first time in this book. The children have learnt to recognise the pictures and then the letters, and I'm sure it has given them a head start in their reading, certainly helped develop a love of books.
