Great film, awesome performance by the Joker and 2 face. However, there are 2 reasons why i only gave this film 4 stars.
1. Batmans voice is ridiculous. Its the worse put on gravely voice in film and really grinds on me, esp the last scene with the joker.
2. Why oh why is that goon Caine, Alfred the butler. Cockney butler for one of the worlds richest tycoons - unlikely. I prefered Michael Gough, a classy English accent.

Could the movie live up to the hype? Most definitely. Buy this film if only to see Heath Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch-enemy the Joker. His performance is worth the cost of the blu-ray alone. I always though that Jack Nicholson's performance would set the standard, but Heath Ledger's Joker knocks that into a hat.
This is a continuance of the Dark Knight created originally by Bob Kane and later re-invented by Frank Miller. Batman ain't Mr NIce Guy and nor should he be. In fact Batman comes across as harder and possibly mentally unstable but then again to wear latex and a cape you have to be a bit mad.
If I found one fault in the film, it would be that it is too long. I would have rather this had been extended and ... Read More:

I remember the first Batman with Michael Keaton playing the part of Batman and Jack Nicholson playing the Joker and the hype surrounding it. At the time I thought it was a pretty good film. Then the sequels happened and various big name actors played the parts of both our hero and the villains. They films got worse each time they mad another.
After a few years off Christian Bale became Batman and he plays the part to perfection. This film is even better then Batman Begins (Or Batman 5) and Heath Ledger is amazing in the part of the Joker. It is sad that this is his last film and his greatest performance.
The plot is based upon the standard super hero film. The action and sets are fantastic. What sets it apart is Heath as the Joker. ... Read More:

I had the misfortune of watching this DVD recently and I was really shocked by Catherine Zeta Jones and her terrible, awful acting - did I mention how bad she was? She should never be given a lead role - EVER! The script and story line are just hopeless! Really the best bits of the movie were all in the 1 minute advert- so PLEASE - I beg of you - save yourself the money and the utter pain of watching this film.

Jason Reitman should be pleased as punch with his superb directorial debut about a spokesman working for the American tobacco industry. The script simply bursts with wit, rich dialogue and snappy satirical shifts and it is anchored by a fabulous performance from the excellent Aaron Eckhart as Nick Naylor, a disarming spin doctor who defends his amoral employers against the most damning of odds.
I hugely enjoyed this film and it is piercingly funny in places, often cutting quite close to the bone. As morally ambiguous as Naylor is, Eckhart plays him with such consummate charm that you almost find yourself cheering him on, as he campaigns for people's right to smoke (incidentally, the film has some very insightful things to say about free speech and our right ... What is it about films like this? They're based on good source material and attract a good cast but when it finally makes it to the screen it seems as if the furniture is putting in a better performance.
With Possession you're left thinking that this was just another opportunity for Gwyneth to showcase her English accent and nothing more and even she's acting a bit like death warmed over.
There's the usual parade of familiar Brit thesps (Tom Hollander, Toby Stephens, Trevor Eve) all acting up a bit too much in tweeds and making Aaron Eckhart look by turns as if he's not making enough effort or everyone else is really hamming it up. Strangely, the scenes you'd think would be worst, ie the flashbacks to Victorian England are by far the best bits with Jeremy ... Read More:

The subject is interesting. The topic is fascinating. The treatment is quite reassuring. But the ideology is hateful. Imagine some natural, geological or cosmic catastrophe meaning the end of the earth, hence of humanity. The loss of the magnetic field of the earth is one possibility since it has been going down for a few decades and no one can explain. If such a phenomenon were truly happening, the normal reaction would be to bring all scientists around the world together to find a solution. There cannot be any moral and acceptable salvation for humanity, or even a little part of humanity if it does not mobilize everyone, every country, every nation. The film is unluckily hijacked by the military that imposes the vision of some aggressive attack from an enemy. They seem to listen to the scientists ... Read More:

Sci-fi actioner directed by John Woo in which square-jawed Ben Affleck pays Michael Jennings, a gifted computer engineer who takes on secretive computer projects for corporations for large sums of cash with one catch: the corporations insist that after completing each assignment he must have his short-term memory wiped so that he remembers nothing of the work that he has done. It is a long-term assignment, lasting three years, ... Read More:
