after the dissapointing ark of truth, and finishing off the ori storyline left over from the end of the stargate sg1 tv series, stargate goes back to basics, with a fun action adventure. the cast are as good as ever, it's action packed, and it's good to see richard dean anderson again, though sadly this is the late don s davis' last performance as general hammond, a great charactor, and a terrific actor too, don s davis will be missed by sg1 fans and it's a fitting tribute, though it is set in an alternate timeline, so it's not the general hammond we all know and love. baal was always good fun in the show, and it's good to see him up to his old tricks. if there are to be any more movies, let's hope they're as enjoyable as this. great fun!

Good fourth season except maybe one or two episodes. great characters development, good actions. The show become more mature. The relationship between the characters become interesting. I like the relation between John Sheppard and Rodney Mackay. Many plots have been created and deserves to continue in a fifth season and more. The cast give depth to the characters. congrat particularly to Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett. Now the actors possess more their character and bring a lot to them.
I'm waiting for the fifth season.
I'm sad to know MGM, SCI-FI and producers decided to cancel the show when the current rates are good and the quality become better and against the viewers opinions and petition signed a lot.

With the majority of the Goa'uld defeated during the previous season this ninth season sees the rise of a new threat to the galaxy in the form of the godlike Ori. This season also sees changes to the main cast with Richard Dean Anderson leaving the main cast and new faces in the shape of Ben Bowder, Claudia Black (both from the excellent Farscape) and Lexa Doig (from Andromeda) joining the show on a regular or semi-regular basis. This change in cast could have been quite terrible but thankfully Ben Bowder more than fills Anderson's shoes as Lt. Col. Mitchell, the new leader of SG-1, and all the other new additions to the cast also fit in very well.
The storyline of this season is good, with the defeat of the Goa'uld last season it was ... Read More:

When a series has gone on for as long as Stargate SG-1 has it generally starts to loose its way and devolve into mediocrity but thankfully it appears that this series has bucked this trend. The twenty-one episodes in this eighth series of the Stargate are, if anything, better than the vast majority of the episodes from the previous seasons. Season eight sees the return of the Replicators, O'Neill's promotion, the continuing search for Ancient technology, the Jaffa rebellion reaches its climax and much more.
This season of Stargate SG-1 has been one of my favourite to date with the only real bad episode being the clip-show `Citizen Joe' but even that is a cut above some other clip-shows I have seen. The writing is competent throughout and the performances by the cast are good and you do feel ... Read More:
