It's an all time classic. I believe this is the only version of Pride and Prejudice that does the book justice. Jane Austen would be very proud. I love the strength that Lizzy shows. She always holds her own and is not afraid to speak her mind. She is highly intelligent and is a good example. Colin Firth plays his part so brilliantly. The complex relationship between these two is wonderful. The battle of wills. Then to watch it all come toghether in the end always brings a tear to my eye. I have not seen a movie yet that beats this. They don't make them like this anymore.

Series six does not reallly measure up to the high standards Spooks has set. First of all, visually it's much more conventional than the earlier series. But stories and characters were always Spooks' strongest assets. The stories are just not as gripping as they used to be and they seem to be running out of ideas. The first two episodes are about biological warfare, the third is about chemical warfare. The development of the storylines is sometimes not very convincing in terms of arriving at a solution. Too often there is the deus ex machina which is not satisfying. The characters are interesting as always, particularly nerw arrival Connie. Ros was never my favourite character but now she defintely develops in s very strange way. That in itself ... Read More:

When it aired in my country in the summer of 2002 and i loved it. it was one of the best mini series i have ever watched. i don't know if it was the subject, gay romance in 19 century England, but this is to this day still in my top 5 of most see mini series.
the plot, the script, the character and the acting are amazing. you can tell it is BBC made due to it's quality.
i highly recommend it and If you don't want to buy try and rent it from somewhere I promise it be worth it.

Bertolucci clearly enjoys the cinematic references in this film, which is, in part, a paean to the glory days of Hollywood. This aspect of the movie is perhaps the most successful.
Set against the backdrop of the 1968 Parisian riots, The Dreamers is a study of sexual awakening and youthful idealism. The claustrophobic and cloistered world of Parisian brother and sister, Theo and Isabelle, becomes a place of discovery for them and the American innocent Matthew, whom they invite to join them while their laissez-faire parents are away. Within their sprawling apartment the three indulge in games of sexual manipulation that turn into obsession and confused despair.
The problem with this otherwise impressive film is that Adair's characters ... Read More:

I watched some of these first time round, on the "box". Pretty good then but somehow John Thaw was "Morse" and in a wig and gown somewhat silly! With the passage of time, his wonderful performance in Mr Tom and our loss of this greatly loved actor, I was more inclined to watch this afresh. So, treated herself to the complete series for watching on cold winter nights. And am I glad I did. Although "padded out" with several sub plots running at the same time, the story lines are always good and sometimes quite controversial. Quite long episodes gives you chance to settle in to each story and the acting quality by all involved is excellent. Quality of Dvd's is fine and the camera work high quality. Mainly though, some sensitive issues are handled ... Read More:

What a charming film with the late great Bob Peck. I knew nothing about this film, even though it was shot near where I come from in Keighley, until I read about it in MADE IN YORKSHIRE. It is also based on true events which happened in Yorkshire.
I had thought it must be dire otherwise I would have heard about. How wrong I was. Was it shown in the cinema ? I have a job tracking it down but found a copy in the Keighley lending library.
