A great movie. Unlike the misleading marketing campaign that suggested this would be a more overt, American-style horror ( yes, i did know it was Spanish ), this is what you would call a classic chiller, of a kind that you don't see much anymore. It doesn't rely on gore, or musical over-scoring, or any of the other things that lazy filmakers use to falsely build the tension. This is pure atmosphere, and the makers take their time developing it. Definitely more satisfying than the relentlessly downbeat 'Pam's Labyrinth'. You'll see what i mean.

I don't normally watch subtitled films but I have to say this was very good. It was very creepy in parts and the twist at the end was unexpected and pretty horrifying!! There was some great jumpy moments in it and overall enjoyed watching it!

I have always liked ghost stories, but there are too few of them, but that is also a good thing as anything that is done poorly lessens a genre. This is a ghost story that does everything right it develops real characters and has suitable motivations for thier actions. When someone does something obsessive or crazy it is well justified and doesn't feel like a plot device. The acting is generally very good and you quickly stop noticing that it is subtitled. While I don't mind subtitled films I don't go out of my way to watch them.
