I actually really liked this film. OK it wasnt as good as the first one which most people agree was an excellent film. However i thought it carried on well from the first movie as this was the real sequel to the first movie. the graphics do look quite dated in parts and the acting is a little silly but i think this is what the starship trooper franchise is all about. It doesnt take itself too seriously. If this film would have had a bigger budget it could of been an excellent film but even though it didnt its still a good film and a very worthy sequel. >>More Details

I love Sanaa Lathan and after watching Love and Basketball, Disappearing acts as well as Something New, my expectations were high. After 3 minutes I stopped the DVD to check that I had the right film because up until then, it comprised a bunch of hip hop artist (most of whom I have never heard of) boring me with their tales of what hip hop means to them. After 20 minutes I realised that I did not like story, characters or the acting. Everything about it was lame. I found the story contrived as well as weak with no depth or meaning. This movie was superb. I wish it was available in PAL (not just US/Canada's NTSC format). I was both inspired not only with it's hysterical, insightful humour, but with it's global appeal. It brings out themes that EVERYBODY can relate to, not only the diverse and often lovable flaws in families, but personal problems and insightfully familiar life themes. The movie has great wit and side splitting humour. It's such fun to watch and this man is a star! He really should be more widely recognised world-wide, a fantastic film that will leave you feeling inspired and wanting to watch more of this wonderful character. The Starship troopers films have often been called `modern b movies' however in my opinion they are good films to watch when you just want to see stuff get shot up! As far as HD films go these are fantastic in full 1080p and I didn't notice a single point where my player #HP Media Elite PC# skipped or where the image appeared sub par of HD. Fully worth getting all three films in a box set #considering the price# with my personal favourite being the first with its original concept, the second and third are also good films looking more into the development of the `bug' species and even a `God' bug half the size of a planet in the third film. Right where to start, I have recently upgraded my home entertainment system, with a new TV and PS3 to go, so obviously I wanted to try out Blu-Ray, this was the First blu-ray movie I ever saw, and Im so glad a picked this movie to test Blu-Ray with, because I don't think I would of picked it for any other reason, because it has some really good special effect's and demonstrated the BR standard very well IMO.
