i was so happy to see this film. It was a poignant and breathtaking tale of a mythical creature - the water horse ' Caruso' and his secret friendship with Angus, the boy who discovered Caruso and brought him up from an egg. This lovely tale is set during the second world war and is even more emotional because of the sideline events which are also happening. A guaranteed heart churner, this is a lovely film for everyone.

I bought this because it would save me space. It's the size of a normal DVD box, feels great and looks slick.
The DVD's in themselve are great as everyone knows. A fourth? It might be in the pipeline but wasn't written by the guy who wrote the original books.
The story as it goes in brief if you haven't already discovered. Bourne is an agent for the US government. Sent to do a job which goes array. He losses his memory and from the beginning of the first film, Bourne tries to recall who he is and tries to work out his memories.
The plot starts in the Med. and takes us on a rollercoaster of a ride. Visiting all the big hitters in Europe. France, Germany, England to the USA for a grand finale.

I LOVE the Disk World series and was very much looking forward to this film. It's a great adaptation of the first two books AND there's an interview with Terry at the beginning, which is almost worth the price of the dvd on its own. The man is seriously funny.
I know that Terry endorsed the choice of David Jason as Rincewind, but I'm sorry, he's just not Rincewind. He gave it his best shot, and David is a national treasure and a great actor - but he just wasn't the best man for the job in this case.
Sean Astin did his best as Twoflower, the Tourist.
The Luggage was excellent, but didn't feature as much as I would have liked.
It was great to see Tim Curry brought out of seclusion to play Trymon, the baddie and all the other wizards ... Read More:

Being a huge fan of the books, I was sceptical about the films. Sharpe in the books is massive, scar on the face and black hair, with Harper even bigger. However after half the first movie, these issues were soon forgotten. The first movies you can tell were lower budget and not quite up to the standard of the others, but with good acting they got away with it. After the first 2, you see the budget increasing, and with this and a marvellous Hakeswill I really felt a whole new dimension to the novels. Especially at the new price, I highly recommend this series!

Rincewind the wizard was never my favorite Terry Pratchett character, but I have to say they did a fine job turning this book into a three-hour film. (Or two TV episodes, whatever.) It had a good cast, including Jeremy Irons and the toothsome newcomer Laura Haddock, who did a fine job in the role as octogenarian Cohen The Barbarian's fair maiden.
Most of all, the dragons, buildings, and space turtles were detailed and beautiful to behold, created on a budget which would have lasted a Hollywood studio through lunch time. We are clearly out of the age where a TV production would have inferior graphics.
I'm hoping they will continue to make films from Pratchett's books, there's a wealth of humor, great stories and outlandish ideas to explore. ... Read More:

Save yourself the money and buy the book instead. A remarkable man, a wonderful book, what a dud of a film. It skates accross what is in actual fact a very moving and sad story with a total disregard for the real story of the person. Not a patch on the book!

My aim was to watch all 3 Bourne movies in quick succession. Which I did! This movie sets the pace as a fast, slick action thriller that immerses the viewer straight into the characters world of confusion and intrigue.
The story sees Jason Bourne (Damon) waking up with short-term memory loss with fragments of memories being triggered throughout the movie. He sets upon a mission to find out all he can, why his skills are so enhanced to kill, infiltrate and out smart his enemy - whilst trying to come to terms with his memory loss he's being targeted by his employers and law enforcement.
The plot is excellent, the acting and fight sequences are first rate, and backed by an complementative score and soundtrack that elevates the tension and excitement. ... Read More:

The title says it all. I bought this dvd from Amazon directly as new. However the dvd received from Amazon (note: not marketplace) is clearly scratched, the cover is worn and the thin plastic is torn in places.
To put it mildly, I'm not impressed with Amazon regarding this.
