I was horrified to see Scrooged on amazon with only a 3 star rating, so I clicked on the item to check out what the reviewers had said. Unfortunately the overall rating had been pulled down dramatically by the rather grumpy review by what appears to be a genuine real life scrooge. This film is great. Bill Murry plays the part of a modern day scrooge beautifully with his deadpan humour and classic role of progressive personality transformation. The film can't take much credit for the overall storyline, but compared to the many other rather boring and overdone rewrites of the classic, this one stands at the top for its clever adaption and extremely comical approach. At the end of the day it wasn't trying to do justice to the original story, ... Read More:

This is far superior to the first movie and to any other adaptation since. I can never decide what is best... following Uncle Festers storyline or the kids at camp, but why settle when the two merge so well in this easily quoted sequel.

Every line is a classic, and watching it again when your old enough to 'get' all the jokes that flew by you as a kid makes you appreciate it more.

If you were a fan as a child, buy it. If you have children of your own who have not seen it... MAKE THEM :) they will thank you.

It is such a shame the dvd has no commentary or anything interesting on it. I have hoped for a better release but the movie itself is worth more than any extras... still it would be nice.

Interesting film. Complex, if slightly annoying characters who tend to either argue, produce witty anecdotes or whine about how the sex in their relationship is non exsistant. Woody Allen gets on my nerves but I knew this was a film I had to watch as I slowly worked my way through the latest 'hundred greatest films' list, put together no doubt by a group of people who all know each other. I'm not sure why this is on the list but there are some comic moments and yes, although aggrivating, Woody Allen is strangly loveable by the end of the film, although his attitude to women is weirdly uncomfortable and stifling to watch, moving from break up to break up to marriage proposals within an hour and a half. One to watch, but I'm sure his genius is more widely ... Read More:

I have always loved this film!! It was the first film Whoopee was the lead in and she certainly is the lead in this film - in fact she makes this film her own and none of the other actors even get a look in.
It is such a funny action packed move from start to finish and it hasn't dated since it first was released back in 1986.
If you like Whoopee or comedy in general then you will really like this film. There isn't a film like it out there today, this is such a gem of a movie that I feel everyone should own this masterpiece. it's like Sister Act in the funny stakes so if that makes you laugh then this will make you laugh harder!!

I hadn't heard of this film until i became a big Al Pacino fan recently. I watched it for the first time the other day not expecting much but i absolutely loved every minute of it.

The acting is brilliant and the films funny and moving. It didn't seem dated at all.

I'm surprised there are not more reviews of this film on here (although there are over 100 on amazons american site). The extras are interesting too with a documentary including casting, filming etc info.

Watch it!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my kids, and we all enjoyed it a lot. A real trip down memory lane having seen it at the movies as a kid myself, but the humour still works on the next generation.

Thoroughly recommended.

When I first watched this movie I wasn't very impressed at all and it was totally not at all instersting nor did it have a good realism either.
It is a real pity that Linsay Lohan has gone down hill. Most actresses do and Linsays one. She totally got carried away with too much money too early.
The movie is basicly about a girl Lola who has moved to Jersay in America from her beloved home NY!!She carries on as a real drama queen which just goes on and on...
I personally would not buy it, it is just a waste of money and time.

This film is BRILLIANT to watch. This movie may have not worked well if it was different actor but perfectly well with Bill Murray. Very very funny movie and it was worth it to watch but better nearer Christmas time. Also I have to say this film help me to bring out in festive mood. Excellent movie.

This is one of those genius crossover pieces, made for children but with such witty dialogue and wordplay it is probably more often rewatched by adults.

So if you want masked men, giants, scheming princes, cunning sicillians, spanish swordsmasters, six-fingered men, swooning damsels, cynical miracle workers, depraved torturers, speech-challenged priests, not to mention, rodents of unusual size, this is the film for you.

It is "inconceivable" you will come away from this movie without remembering a line or two.

Intellgent cast, good pacing, great script.
