Malkovich is once again mesmerising as the tragic but memorable Lennie, a simple minded man born into a cruel world. Senise plays his inseparable buddy and guardian, George, and you feel for him as he struggles hard to cope with looking after the difficult Lennie, mainly because the harsh world doesn't have the time or patience to understand such a man whose behavior can be a little worrying and eccentric. The stretched out wheat fields make a great movie landscape and the mood of the era is quite well defined, it seems. Then you come to the humanity of the famous story, the painful humanity that will not leave you, just as the pain will not leave George, who is forced into making an unenviable decision by circumstances you sort of sense coming. ... This is an all time classic, one of THE greatest movies that will ever be made. It sits third on my Top 5 list, falling only behind Casino and Goodfellas.
There are lot's of reviews for this movie already, so I will keep mine brief.
Buy this film, watch it and fall in love with it like everyone else. It is quite simply a masterpiece that will pull every one of your emotions out of you. This movie shows River Phoenix at his greatest, and untouchable piece of acting that goes far beyond the limits of his script.
If ever a movie deserved 5 stars, this is it.

The script is cleverly written and there are scenes which will make you cry, make you laugh, make you shiver with excitement, and make you hate certain characters. These superbly written scenes are delivered by a perfect cast, with exceptional acting from Emilio Estevez and Lou Diamond Phillips in particular. The film focuses on the Lincoln County War, paying particular attention to the part played by the Regulators in this war. The Regulators and the few people on their side are shown in a positive light, and other parties involved are shown in a negative light. I believe this film is an accurate representation of the war and of those involved. I strongly recommend this outstanding film to everyone, whatever your interests, this film is a must see. Stephen King is the man when it comes to long stories about small town evil goings on. This title having not come from one of his existing books still lives up to the rest of his mini series gems still nothing has quite topped The Stand. This one is stark through and through lending the well hearted good vs evil nature that is so frequent with King stories. However, there are some supporting actors here that are just pants and bring down the rest the main guy for one. The main bad dude is spot on and very sinister. This miniseries took nearly ten years to grace the sales shelves since its airing on TV and it was worth the wait now if they go back and put in some special features this would be the best DVD ever!

For years, people have tried to bring Lee Falk's seminal jungle / superhero to the big screen, with no luck. This movie all but died in "development hell" several times, but you just can't keep a good Ghost-Who-Walks down!
Billy Zane was born to play this role, so it's a good thing that he's such a fan of the character (he "discovered" The Phantom in the late '80s while filming "Dead Calm" in Australia, where The Phantom is revered more than Batman is in the States). He brings the black & white / Good vs E-Ville sensibilities of the character to stunning life, & while he never takes it too seriously, he never makes fun of it either, which is a hard balance to achieve.
This movie takes place in a small town isolated on an Island off Maine. And as the title suggest, it is hit by the worse storm ever. Snow so thick it is hard to see through and wind so strong that the waves of the ocean start to claim buildings. This alone would make for an exciting adventure movie. But of course King gives us more. A truly supernatural villain comes to town and knows everyone secrets. He starts to kill them off and keeps asking to be given `what he wants." As we watch the movie we are trying to figure out what he wants...and also wondering why the villagers do not give it to them.
The movie is suspenseful. And the acting is great. Everyone in this movie acts well, including the children. Of course the best is Colm Feore as the villain Andre ... Read More:

I saw this film many years ago, and it remains my favourite. I can't remember how many times I have seen it, but it still makes me laugh out loud and I still get goosepimples at all the right moments. I love its sense of history - it captures the spirit of its age, yet it also manages to combine comedy with characterisation. The characters are real, and I can certainly identify with them all - even the most unlikeable among them. Christopher Walken and Matthew Broderick share the honours, with a strong supporting cast. I love this film so much. It feels like a hidden gem, but I want everyone else to experience it too. Hopefully it will have the same effect on you as it had on me all those years ago

The movie centres on a group of teenage boys who pool their milk-money [intended to buy milk at school; hence the title] to pay a hooker to show them her breast. Bunking-off school they meet the gorgeous Melanie G and persuade her to reveal her talents to all but 1; embarrased, shy & looking for a new mom [box of hankies at the ready]. Mel' goes on the run from her violent pimp who has stashed a small fortune in the car she took-off in. Mel' arrives at the home of the embarrased lad, meets his dad & tries to start a new life. Alas, Mel' is recognised & her ex-pimp is hot on the trail. Chilled Pepsi/Asti & pleasurable company make for a great evening & breakfast.
