I had the misfortune of watching this DVD recently and I was really shocked by Catherine Zeta Jones and her terrible, awful acting - did I mention how bad she was? She should never be given a lead role - EVER! The script and story line are just hopeless! Really the best bits of the movie were all in the 1 minute advert- so PLEASE - I beg of you - save yourself the money and the utter pain of watching this film.

Basically Young Indiana Jones meets every famous name from the first quarter of the 20th Century. However, there seem to have been a few very basic historical blunders made. For example in one scene of Episode One we see Indiana and parents crossing the Mediterranean in 1908 on what appears to be the Queen Mary. In another scene at Port Said, there appears to be a large aircraft carrier in the background. Thats just episode one, so I'm looking forward to other cockups in later episodes.
The remastered picture and sound are very good, but the acting is iffy, the scripts badly written, and the storyline plods along at snails pace. I remember watching the series in the 1990s, and some of the episodes were pretty good. Maybe time has dimmed the memory ... Read More:

Now this film did take me a while to warm up to. The first two times I tried to watch it I was rather bored, though whether this is because I'm a woman, I'm not entirely sure. However the third time I watched it all the way through, and it honestly blew my mind. Cusack's performance's in movies are generally underrated, but here he generates utter brilliance, so much so that he kind of ruined the book for me, as I kept hearing his American voice for an English character.

The audio is the best I've heard on blue ray and the video is equally impressive with the vivid colours and detail of the period costumes shown to great effect.Exhilerating musical numbers, beautifully designed sets and great performances make this unmissable.

I came across this series rather late - better late than never. It is one of the best series I've seen for a long time - such a feel good factor, a fantastic family atmosphere - what's missing nowadays - it's nice to be able to escape into the Larkin's world and wish ours was more like it nowadays! A must for your collection.

'Intolerable Cruelty' is a movie I've wanted to view for quite some time but for some reason or another every time I've gone to rent it another title has caught my eye and alas this movie has been put off for another day. Finally getting to watch this movie last night has made me realise how lucky I was not to waste my money renting out this dull, overly long piece of trash and believe me that's what this movie is: rubbish.
