I would sincerely love to give this film 5 stars but i just cant. I'd be lying if i did. And the film isnt worth it.
Ok, like everyone else, i adored the 6 series of SATC and was sooooo looking forward to the film, but seriously, it was really frustrating to watch. in the end i was praying it would finish quickly. The major problem for me was the fact that there just wasnt enough time to sort through all the ladies lives! like in the show, you had the whole season to reach a satisfying conclusion, not so in the film. One of the best things about the end of season 6 was that all the girls had found happiness, i was particularly fond of Miranda and Steve, but in the film, their relationship just get's blown to bits by ... I'm pretty certain if you're looking to buy this, you're not a new-comer to the series, so I won't break it down for you - so many reviews on each season for pick from, I won't bore you. Course if you are a new-comer... sorry. Simply reason for this review, is to tell you exactly what you're getting from this instead of the individual boxsets. Firstly, space-saver. Sounds stupid, maybe, but for those that are racing up 100s or 1000s of DVDs, it's a valid point, (yeah, that would be me, of course) and it is a growing problem. Secondly, you get extras that weren't on the originals, though flipside, if you have the first edition of Season One, (the 'format problem' one in the red case), you miss out on the extras on this, if you're swapping/up-grading). I was so excited when the film came to DVD, having not had a chance to see it at the cinema. I pre-ordered it, sent the hubby out, put the baby to bed, and settled back to enjoy. But what a disappointment! Why aren't my favourite girls happy? Samantha miserable in LA, Miranda back to her cynical and stroppy worst, Carrie a materialistic drama queen, and Charlotte - did she even have a storyline? Even her pregnancy announcement was muted, after so long trying. It's like the writer couldn't think what to do with her character, as she was the only happy one, and the only memorable moment for her was pooing her pants! OK, so I tried to sit through this with my wife, and while I thought it was just watchable, she loved it! Neither of us had seen it at the cinema, so it was nice to just settle down in front of the big screen at home. However, I valued the time with my wife more than my time with the film!
But, that's being unfair! The film is clearly aimed at the female audience, although it does have its male appeal too I suppose. Like I said, she loved it, the picture quality was great as you'd expect, and the sound was pretty good. What more can you say?! >>More Details |

I was impressed with the accurate depiction of San Juan Hill wich was very good. May be not the german "instructors" because this was apparantly not according to the fact of the battle.
I am a tickler for weapons,(in this case howitzer, machineguns, and the clothing, is perfect)and the general visual performance of the actors, Tom Berenger for instance is perfect as TR with mimics and voice. >>More Details |
