Ok so you know the story but this movie does not date. I know kids of 6/7 who watch this film and still love it. Timeless classic quality. A must for anybody!!!!

After quite a few disappointing movie rentals, and being none too impressed by the more recent monster/action films to grace our screens, I decided to try out a classic.
My interest was initially perked up by the fact Kiefer Sutherland was in it. Being a bit of a fan, and liking the premise of the film, I decided to buy the double boxset of the film (it works out cheaper - even if the 2nd one is a bit naff in comparison) and I must say it's one of the best films I have seen in ages!
The story goes thus. Michael and Sam move with their mum to Santa Carla, California, after what seems like a slightly messy divorce. They settle in quickly, Sam befriending two (if not slightly odd) comic book store teens, and Michael befriending ... Read More:

This is an all time classic, one of THE greatest movies that will ever be made. It sits third on my Top 5 list, falling only behind Casino and Goodfellas.
There are lot's of reviews for this movie already, so I will keep mine brief.
Buy this film, watch it and fall in love with it like everyone else. It is quite simply a masterpiece that will pull every one of your emotions out of you. This movie shows River Phoenix at his greatest, and untouchable piece of acting that goes far beyond the limits of his script.
If ever a movie deserved 5 stars, this is it.

The Lost Boys (original movie) is one of the most popular vampire movies of it's time, and it's success relies not just on the pure brilliance of it's story, but on the wonderful comedic timing and impressive performances by Keifer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and Jason Patrick.
A divorced mother of two is forced to move to Santa Carla to live with her father in financial defeat. Her two teenage sons, Michael and Sam are dismayed to find that their grandfather lives in a ranch-cabin style house with no TV, miles from anywhere, amongst an impressive array of stuffed animals.
At first it seems life doesn't seem as exciting in Santa Carla, until Michael falls in love at first sight with Star, a dark-haired beauty distracted with a bunch ... Read More:

I was hoping something special with this Blu-ray release, I was so disappointed with the delivery of this edition of the Goonies, I would even say that the DVD version is superior in term of content, a prime example is the menu navigation system, the DVD was beautifully animated and crafted as if you were inside a cave; the Blu-ray edition is just a simple screen with a background picture and selectable text. All I can say about the picture quality is exactly the same as the previous reviews, good in some parts bad in others.
My next grudge with this version of the Goonies is purely personal and probably does not concern much of the customers that will buy this Blu-ray. Because I am half European Spanish I grew up watching it in the Castilian Spanish version, ... Read More:

My sister and I are reviewing this film as it is definetley one of our favourites.First is that anyone I know who has seen this film cannot help quoting from it comments such as "this is walter" and "what is that Slavic?".
What makes this film remarkable is that Tom Hanks leads the film and it is just not a Tom Hanks film. There is no message of hope no triumph of decent Americans.on the contrary this is a film that celebrates fear of strangers/foreigners and extols the virtue of snooping. What I find slightly annoying is that Rick Duccomon (Art aka Tuna-Neck) has been in so little since (I think he was in the lamentable California Man and Gremlins 2 but that is it). This is a tragedy as Rick's performance is a revelation especially his ability to eat in every single scene. ... Read More:

I watched the Hi-Def version of this last weekend on Sky Movies. I don't know how they do it, but the picture quality's as good as a modern film (yes, The Lost Boys is 21 years old!). One of my favourite all times and it's added straight to my wish list!
