I completley agree with another reviewer..you have to be a little bit mad to actually enjoy Ally to the full.
Make no bones, this isn't no Friends, no Sex in The City, nowhere near a 'girly series'. This is an incredible and mindblowing, and possibly life-changing series that is so well written its almost impossible to comprehend the intelligence of the writer. Ally will make you cry, male or female, because it gets through all your barriers and certain episodes just hit raw nerves that seem so well protected. The comedy is not canned laughter, its sublime, and was never really intended to be a 'laugh a minute series', its a lot more serious than that. Season 3 was great! With Elaine wanting to be a mom, Ally taking prozac, John SPANKING Nelle its all hilarious, but there is the tragedy of Billy's brain tumour! Ally, though, gets more annoying (if possible!) and personally, Larry made her a little more supportable. Nelle gets more subzero and Ling gets colder and John becomes stranger. But, Elaine, my favorite character gets better and you see a good side of her in Blue Christmas and Just Friends. I recommend Seeing Green (Ally takes Prozac), Blue Christmas (Elaine wants to adopt a baby), Just Friends (Ally thinks Johns the one and Elaine is tired of her image), The Oddball Parade (Elaine and Ally audition for a contest to be Tina Turners back up singer), Boy Next Door (Billy, sadly dies), Hope ... Very watchable especially for Ally McBeal fans of the series. Better than the soap operas we now have on TV - the characters are fresher, cleaner and more inspiring than the gloomy cast of down and outs in English 'soaps'. A few later episodes in this series become boring with added excessive shouting/arguing which spoils the style of 'Ally McBeal'. This multiple CD set prepares one for the next season of quirky characters who compliment each other well in the serious setting of a law firm, with occasional (surreal) flights of fancy.

A slow Season, but a very well written one. All soaps start slow so this is no exception. Lots of familiar faces for soap fans in this one. The always lovely Deborah Adair has a reccuring role as Lucy, fans of The Young And The Restless may remember her as Jill Abbott in the 1980's, while Days Of Our Lives fans will remember her as the original Kate Roberts and (my this woman was busy)Dynasty viewers may remember her as Tracy kendall. Falcon Crest fans need not feel left out, they will enjoy seeing William Moses pop up.
There are plenty of good stories to start this show that most can relate to, it is a mature well balanced Season. >>More Details |

I've been waiting for this series to arrive on DVD for many years! It's extremely funny, and it's ok to watch at any age (though of course adults will enjoy it much better). Jim Belushi is a very good comedian, but the rest of the cast is also very good (exspecially Larry Joe Campbell, who plays Jim's "sidekick" in all of his schemes).

Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise was always going to have its work cut out trying to be a effective funny film in its own right and be a worthwhile sequel to the very successful first instalment of the Nerds sequence. On many levels it does fail quite badly, but somehow I think the rather more innocent tone of this film is a much better fit than some of the slightly sordid goings-on in the first film. Lewis Skolnick is back again, this time representing Adams College at the national fraternity conference in Florida. Unfortunately for Lewis, Gilbert cannot attend due to a broken leg, so the intrepid leader of the Nerds must take Lamar, Poindexter, Wormser and Booger along instead.
