I loved the film from beginning to end even though I am not a fan of Christmas, it was more focused on family. It wasn't a predictable storyline which made it more interesting, I will definitely watch it again and share it around. It had some laughter, some tears and some fighting, everything you need for a perfect Christmas lol.

A typical jerry bruckheimer no brains all action film, anyone who likes either fast cars or nick cage will like this.
The blueray its self is very good quality with bright, vibrant and sharp picture quality and excellent sound to boot, the disc is only let down by its limited extra features. If you havn't already got this on dvd then this is certainly worth a look.
What I watched it on.

playstation 3 blu-ray player (HDMI)
JVC th-v70r surround sound (optical) (dolby digital 5.1) (inc tannoy m1 front L/R speakers)

Martial arts sci-fi thriller in which Jet Li plays a villain called Yu Law murdering versions of himself in parallel worlds so that he can become `the one', a being of unlimited power. But he has met his match in the version of himself known as Gabriel Law. This film is not bad and Jet Li does a decent job playing good and evil versions of himself. The special effects and fight scenes stand out and are really what make the film. Brit actor Jason Statham also does a passable job as a `multiverse agent' out to apprehend the evil Yu Law and bring him to justice. But although enjoyable this film does not reach the heights necessary to be considered excellent. Still, good enough sci-fi fare.
John Irving published his novel The Cider House Rules in 1985 to great critical and commercial acclaim. Centred on a Maine orphanage, its central topic of abortion perhaps is the most obvious allusion to the influence of Charles Dickens on Irving's work. The World According to Garp and The Hotel New Hampshire had already been filmed (Garp by the director George Roy Hill in 1982, and Hampshire by Tony Richardson in 1984), both to moderate success, but it wasn't until 1999 that Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom turned Rules into perhaps one of the best screen adaptations of a novel for some years.
The two main characters in "Rules" are Homer Wells, an orphan, and Dr Wilbur Larch, who's in charge of the orphanage where Homer grows up and ... Read More:

I am inspired by the story of Malcolm X. Here is a man that did make a difference. He is a true example of bravery.
His story is well told by Spike Lee. Its strange why Alex Haley (the author of Malcolm's autobiography of which the film is based) does not appear in the film at all given the close working relationship between Malcolm and the author so near the end of his life. Regretably the UK released version of the film has no real extras. A commentary and a few good documentaries on the man would help.
However the whole film is good from start to finish and does well to show the development of Malcolm from troubled youth to national champion. The last 15 to 20 minutes is so moving as Malcolm who gave so much for his people ... Read More:

The subject is interesting. The topic is fascinating. The treatment is quite reassuring. But the ideology is hateful. Imagine some natural, geological or cosmic catastrophe meaning the end of the earth, hence of humanity. The loss of the magnetic field of the earth is one possibility since it has been going down for a few decades and no one can explain. If such a phenomenon were truly happening, the normal reaction would be to bring all scientists around the world together to find a solution. There cannot be any moral and acceptable salvation for humanity, or even a little part of humanity if it does not mobilize everyone, every country, every nation. The film is unluckily hijacked by the military that imposes the vision of some aggressive attack from an enemy. ... Read More:

With McGregor (Star Wars, Trainspotting) and Diaz (My best friend's wedding, Gangs of New York) I thought that this would be a sure-fire hit, and with only a few memorable scenes, it was far from it.
McGregor stars as self-contained Rob Lewis who never has the ambition to get what he truly wants; he never puts himself on the line for what he needs. On a meeting with his boss' daughter, McGregor's character wants to start a new life and through these two different characters comes an interesting ideology of a wonderful love story.
With McGregor's character stubborn, afraid and unappreciative and Diaz's character a snobbish, confidant and elegant female do we see two different personalities collide and allow the story to become interesting as ... Read More:
