I was hugely looking forward to watching these two so finally got them using the Amazon Rental thingy. People had been going on about how they weren't just for kids and what great films they were. Well, I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. They were both pretty dull. Thin plots, poor songs and musical numbers (apart from the last number in Shrek 2), annoying characters (in a more realistic film someone would have shot the Donkey ten minutes in).
Maybe I'm just an old grouch, but I fell asleep twice during the second one and the first wasn't much better.

No, no, no! I think Mr 'A Customer' also reviewing here picked up the wrong end of the stick, his video tape copy wasn't rewound due to the fact the couple watching it had to hit the sheets mid-movie after watching Michael Douglas and Demi Moore in their intimate clinch; the whipcrack of the g-string removal does stir the blood somewhat!
So, come on, Michael Crichton is no dispstick, and he's written more books-to-movie stories than most author's can wave a stick at, and someone has the gall to say it became boring? Nah, sorry, mate; are you sure you're reviewing the right movie?
Innovative as another reviewer notes in that the 'sexism in the office' tables have been turned in that Demi has accused Michael Douglas of sexual harrasment, ... Read More:

I'm a sucker for Sandra Bullock, and she's the reason why this thriller of paranoid business intrigue works as well as it does. The story line is simple. Angela Bennett (Bullock) is a computer expert who tests software. She's a genius at what she does. One day she comes across a disc which gets her into something called The Gatekeepers. It shouldn't have done so, and before long she becomes the object of a hired killer, her best friend dies in a hospital and she's on the run with her identity stolen. She doesn't know what's going on, but in self defense she starts cracking computer codes and discovering secrets. By the end of the movie she has narrowly escaped death more than once, helped a bad guy take a dive off a catwalk, managed to break into a ... Read More:

This is a wonderful low-budget grindhouse movie from Rogar Corman, yet Amazon have put the wrong running time, the correct running time is 76 minutes, which sad to say means the film is still cut by 9 MINUTES of its orginal running time and yet its still a 18, just a sad sign of our times!

Man, I love this film!! On the surface it's another trashy teen comedy, and I suppose below the surface it's another trashy teen comedy, too. It's not ever gonna be an award winner, but it's one of my all-time favourites. It's corny story is so well played that it's hard not to love the characters and end up dreaming of your own 'Silvertown'.... and, um, Brandi. Kid Rock is surprisingly good, and Christopher Walken is hilarious.
And as others have said, it's got a great soundtrack, great quotes ("You like to see homos naked?"), and a happy, sunny feel - none of those dramatic thunderstorms at night.
if you are a fan of 'real' jamaican hard core rockers music.. this film is a must!! a lesson in what real music is right here at the flick of my wrist to make you jump and twist as i would say!!
many years of watching and memorising this film has made it a sunday favourite in my household for 2 generations. if you want to taste a little of jamaica in the early 70s this is the dvd to buy!!!
one love!

OK, let me start out by saying that this is one of my favorite movies; it's a nice combination of romance and action. I like Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner as a couple, finding them to be a lot of fun. The action is very good, and the scene where Dennis Quaid beats up a bad guy with a baby in one hand and a stroller in the other is great! Yep, this is an excellent movie, one of my all-time favorites!
By the way, as far as family viewing is concerned, this is a very family-friendly movie. The violence is limited, with is no blood to be seen, and no nudity. I love this movie, and so does my family (especially my fourteen-year-old daughter!). We highly recommend this movie!

As a book is opened, and Shrek tells the story of a prince and a princess and utters the words "Like that's ever going to happen" does the film engage the audience and set the tome for a thoroughly enjoyable family adventure with good comedy, interesting protagonists and an entertaining narrative.
When we first see Shrek's appearance we instantly gasp, but are instantly laughing and amazed as the credits role and observe an Ogre in his natural habitat, bathing in mud and eating gross things. This opening is very inviting and invites us into an unknown world and the life of a different character that is far from your average looking everyday hero. Shrek, a big and nasty looking man, is a symbol, an icon if you will, of defying odds and true hope. A sweet ... Read More:
