Greatest film ever? Maybe that is pushing it a bit (the likes of Robocop and Jaws 2 might have something to say about that). But Greatest car chase film ever involving Reynolds, Burt? Definitely. (Actually, Smokey and the Bandit might have something to say about that).
They simply do not make films like this any more. As a taster it involves Mr Foyt, 2 priests in a Ferrari, the crazed Doctor Nicholas Van Helsing, 2 bombshells in a Lamborghini, Roger Moore (as himself) sending himself up in possibly his best outfit since Live and Let Die, tree-loving bra-less Farah Fawcett, a manic Jackie Chan driving a souped-up Subaru and cool-as-ever Burt Reynolds with his side-kick Captain Chaos.
The Secret of NIMH is an animated rarity. The story is a serious one - nobody bursts into song and there are quite a few disturbing sequences. Don Bluth's masterpiece deserves to be up there with Bambi as one of the greatest animated films of our time. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you see it, especially if you love Don Bluth's other classics like The Land Before Time or An American Tail.
The story itself is simple - a mother mouse (Mrs Brisby) must move her family, but she desperately needs help because her son is seriously ill. She seeks the aid of a clan of super-intelligent rats, led by the wise Nicodemus. As Mrs Brisby uncovers a secret about her late husband's past, the power-hungry rat Jenner seeks out to ruin everything. ... Read More:

This is a great film funny and entertaining, lighthearted and romantic, not to be taken seriously. Good music, good story, a real feel good romantic comedy, Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton are both great in the lead roles. Well worth watching.

Murder, She Wrote - Season 6 [1989]
This is very enjoyable stuff and thank goodness it is out on DVD ! The cast are a hoot ! It is in the tongue in cheek tradition of Columbo , Murder She Wrote & Quincy and as such is delightfully easy to watch ! You get the feeling that if Agatha Christie had written about a medical sleuth then this is sort of how it would have been. Diagnosis Murder deserves to be popular as it is updated drawing room fare a la Helen Hayes as Jane Marple or Sir Peter Ustinov as Poirot. Amazon deserve the credit for offering this fine show at a competitive price as not all of us can either be at home to watch it on TV during the weekday afternoons or operate a DVD recorder !

This film was a childhood favourite of mine and now that I'm 19 and still a Disney fan, I thought I'd give it another try and still I thoroughly enjoyed it. But Oliver and Company is by no means flawless. The music and humour are both very good and the characters are as cute and loveable as you'd expect from Disney. But at times this film does attempt to slightly overstep limits with some darker moments, and it's also a rare occasion where a movie being fast paced is actually a bad thing, as the film is only 70 minutes long and goes by in no time. But still a good film for all the family and certainly one of Disney's more underrated titles. It just could've done with being a bit longer.

I had totally forgotten about this film until I saw a clip on TV, so time to check it out again. I have to say, although I had not seen it for about 15 years, I forgot how timeless and funny this is. A parody on famous movies and times in history, with some suprisingly good effects for the time. For me, Mel Brooks can be quite hit and miss, but this film was a definate hit. Who else could do a musical number about the Spanish inquisition?

Not sure what the other review expected from this movie, true it aint gonna win anyone any oscers or best film award, in fact i dare say its one of Wilders lessa known movies! Still. i found this movie "Simply Charming" to me along with young frankinstien, Willy wonka, one of Wilders finer films. It's entertaining, harmless perfect late night or sunday afternoon viewing. I guess in the same sense as Young Frankinstien. Give it a try! its dirt cheap and trust me, a grand old film! Reason behind 5 Stars? purly to balance out the star review score. should really be about a 3 to 4 (good to very good) ;-)

This was one of those TV series from my childhood that I worried about buying, things I remember though those rose coloured glassed of childish enthusiasm tend not to live up to the memory. This, however, did.
I remember that I liked the first series, I enjoyed the second better (except for the preaching at the end by Bob "the grave robber" Balard and his oceanographic institute) and the third rocked my world. Unfortunately, even though the third had the best viewing figures the tv network decided to cancel. I remember the 3rd series best (I was, and still am, a Michael Ironside fan).
The second series lost a lot of viewers because of it's 'preachy' views at the end (it was ahead of it's time in the promotion of ecology conservation) - and ... Read More:

From the people who brought you An American Tail and The Land Before Time. ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN is the story of Charlie (Burt Reynolds), a German Sheppard, who escapes from the dog pound and is murdered by his gangster (Carface) friend. but instead of going to heaven he jumps ship and returns to earth to take revenge. On his return he frees a young orphan girl, Anne-Marie, who Carface was holding captive because of her ability to talk to and understand animals. Who soon grows on Charlie, making him change his ways and helps him get back into heaven.
There is a sequel but the cast has been completely changed, as Judith Barsi the girl who played Anne-Marie was murdered by her father during production.
Its a wonderful story and uses old school animation (which ... Read More:
