I loved this film so much that I felt compelled to read the book on which it is based - and, to my surprise, the film turned out to be almost better!

I was expecting this to be a bit lame but actually I quite enjoyed it. I got it in the 3 pack deal with shrooms and Dead Silence and overall I think I prefered it to the other two. I thought the actors were quite good. Not a lot happened really but the suspense was real and there was one part when I could imagine how she must have been feeling and I kind of felt it to. It was an interesting idea and it worked well.

I just love this film. It is simply beautifully acted. The tension and the sparks of chemistry are real. It is, as if I am watching the plot unraveled right in front of my eyes "Live!".
Truly marvellous actings from everyone. You will feel at times, you will have a hate and love relationship with all the characters but that's because they're flawed(we're human after all), but it is really a must see film. Go. Get this if you have the time to really enjoy this film from the start to the end without much interruptions. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as i do.

I think if you have a subtle sense of humour and are also a bit of a romantic then this will really appeal to you. I rarely laugh at films and I have never laughed so loudly (for some reason) and so often at a film before.
The casting is brilliant. All the characters are very real and enjoyable.
Whilst I can understand some of the criticisms - it's certainly not one for the cynics or the shallow - all I can say is give it a go, it might just grab you like it did me. And I'm not easily grabbed.

I was saving this for ages and trying to watch dvds i didn't care so much about but I eventually gave in tonight and watched it. It was a brilliant storyline, a great twist and amazingly acted by Sarandon and Blunt. Blunt I think is one of the best upcoming actors and she's British!!So that's doubly good to me! She's beautiful but has the ability to look totally evil at the same time, like a femme fatale! A good film, recommended.

When Gideon's Daughter was first broadcast, one of the newspaper reviewers described it cruelly but accurately as a story about a guy who thinks that there's something wrong with his daughter, but she turns out to be fine.
Somehow, Stephen Poliakoff has emerged from the back of the field to become British television's most commissioned, most prestigious and incidentally most expensive television writer. This is an impressive feat for someone who can't devise dramatic (or even halfway plausible) stories, who can't write dialogue that even faintly resembles the way human beings speak, and who has absolutely no visible sense of humour. How he did it, I'm not sure. One reason is that most of the great British television dramatists are either dead, ... Read More:
