What a disappointment. This is a drama that feels terribly dated. The characterisation is weak and the script more than slightly pedantic. "Give them a chance" "No they're not worth it. They're animals" etc. Yes - this is the kind of embarrassing stuff you have to listen to. In fact it is so risible in places, you may find it hard not to laugh out loud. Definitely not HBO's finest hour(s).
I have the distinct feeling that this may have been impressive at the time but far from now being a fine vintage drama, the show has turned into dramatic vinegar in a remarkably short period of time. After all the hype and the good reviews I'd read on amazon, this was a let-down. I'm going to return to The Wire for a proper fix.

"The Crow" is excellent in so many ways. First, Brandon Lee is unique, torn between grief and eagerness to avenge his and Shelley's death, the directing is outstanding and far above the standard of this genre, the visuals are a blast. In fact the entire cast - even the smaller roles - were excellently cast. There is nothing bad I can say about this movie. A MUST SEE!

In this boxset there are the two movie discs and a little "movie scrapbook". The movie scrapbook is a little book (about 12 pages) with some interesting facts and drawings about the movies (a nice addition to the 2 DVDs).
The movies are as good as I remember, as a child I used to be so scared of even the thought of the pink slime! Bill Murray is a legend!!
Excellent value for what you get! Everyone should own this!

Not an all region disc as described. It is region B only. I can't play it and I can't return it. I contacted the vendor about it and got no reply. Don't trust the product descriptions. I learned the hard way.
There are sites where you can look up the region status for blu-ray movies.

A very funny film, with a first rate cast, MISS CONGENIALITY deals with examining the value of an American institution. When I was growing up one of the yearly television events I always recalled was the "Miss America" pageant (as well as the other beauty pageant for "Miss Universe"). Watching Bert Parks' singing the "Miss America" song was on the same level as watching the Thanksgiving Day parade or the Superbowl. In fact, when Parks was fired from "Miss America" in the 1980s, the pageant lost many viewers out of sympathy with Bert.
But that dropping of Parks was an example of what the producers of the show faced in the 1980s. There had been dwindling interest and ratings for several years. Many felt the show ... Read More:

I am sorry but if you dont enjoy this film you must have had a sense of humour bypass operation when you were younger. The cast is great, the story superb and the music excellent. A film you will keep coming back to when you need to put a smile on your face!!

Ok, I agree with the previous review in that you won't be guessing the plot, but if you enjoyed the first movie you will enjoy the second. The second movie has a similar theme to the first in that our heroine has to save the day, and Sandra Bullocks' type casting as the adorable yet silly Gracie Hart lends itself well to the popcorn movie of it's genre. It'll leave you smiling. A good film to put on to cheer yourself up. Not life changing, not challenging but fun and enjoyable.
