If I were reviewing the show itself, I would give this 4 or 5 stars. However, what disappointed me was the absence of subtitles on this release of the show. Maybe it's just my TV, but sometimes the dialogue is diffiulct to hear, especially in scenes where there is a lot of background noise. This means I have to strain to capture all the words and nuances, rather than being able to sit back and enjoy the narrative as it develops. Moreover, the choice to release it withour subtitles obviously makes it pretty much impossible for anyone hearing-impaired to enjoy. A rather cheap, cost-cutting ommision from Showtime, whose boxsets are usually excellent...

Where to start in reviewing this truly fabulous film? A clever plot, a script full of laughs (with the odd poignant moment thrown in), and a top notch cast, this movie has it all. Robin Williams is a revelation as the gay nightclub owner and Nathan Lane is at his outrageously camp best as his partner - and frighteningly convincing in drag too! Gene Hackman delivers a terrific performance as the ultra Conservative senator a wonderful double act with his wife played by the superb Dianne Wiest. Look out for a young Calista Flockhart as their daughter, in her pre Ali MacBeal days. Hank Azaria is hilarious as the over the top manservant - and later, disastrous butler. The embarrassment factor is high and you'll be watching through your hands as the ... Read More:

True lies is an action/comedy film that starts off like james bond but with greater emphasis on violence,it then treads into comedy before finishing off with hollywood blockbuster action at its very best, the film with that in mind can be divided into three, arnie excels in all areas.
True lies is a james cameron film, the budget is vast, the action exaggerated and it is all so frantic.
Jamie lee curtis puts in a good showing as arnies wife who is bored with the hum-drum of her life, arnie is a spy who never told her what he does and there is a comical showing from bill paxton who cameron clearly enjoys working with.
I havent gone into mass detail here but needless to say this is one classy film.

Black Sheep is a pretty funny Comedy, at times often laugh out loud hilarious, and Farley and Spade just have great chemistry together!, plus, the scene where Farley and Spade act as police officers and get stoned from the Nitrous Oxide is absolutely a scream!. I really don't know how Tim Matheson played it straight around Farley, cause that guy is just hilarious, and the ending is a big hoot as well, and will have you in stitches, plus while it may be a rerun of other films I still found it to be funny as hell. Gary Busey is a riot in his role as a crazy former Sgt. and it's a damn shame Farley died when he did cause he was so funny and I was looking forward to seeing more great funny films of his, plus slapstick and buffoon humor is right up my alley so of course I ... This movie is a good disaster movie with all the elements of a disaster movie. There are all the stereotype disaster characters form the "I'll ride it out" to the "You are scaring my customers".
Naturedly the person that knows what will happen (Pierce Brosnan) has no credibility with the authorities. Then the disaster happens and he must save the beautiful (Linda Hamilton) and family. At first indifferent soon to become enamored.
I do not want to go too much into detail as you will lose the shock value. I can tell you it involves a volcano and a budding love story.
HD was finally pushed out by Blu-ray but any way you watch a big screen adds to the viewing pleasure without adding or subtracting from the story.

A pale remake of so many films or books about the Mines of King Solomon, the lost valley and the wild African nature that has no real existence except in our phantasms. So the film is just a poor piece of entertainment in which everything is so artificial that we see the zippers on the four sides of all the gorillas. I just wonder if the human beings are not the same with four zippers, one on each side. That's what modern technology and digitalized 3D virtual reality is producing day after day and they just edit it into a long feature and they call it a film. One more miracle of that modern age.

Fans of the Mummy film series will enjoy this. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It's a simple story, acted out by a great cast. The Rock isn't a bad actor at all, and leads the film well.
There are many great action sequences too along with good special effects. Worth a watch!
