When I first heard about this television series, I heard it was the next 'Lost' and that it would be the next phenomenon of the television world. Sadly, I didnt think it lived upto the hype and overall the first episodes were a dissapointment. Although I was very uninspired with 'Heroes' I continued to watch but wasnt too annoyed if I missed an episode. Towards the end of the first season I had developed a passing interest in the programe and I was bordering on actually enjoying it. Finally when the season finale' came ... I had to be in to watch it. Whilst I dont think its anywhere near as good as 'Lost' .... Heroes is still good .... to a certain degree. I admit first hearing about this i remember thinking that it was an X-Men Rip-off. I'm So Glad that i finally realised that this isn't anything like X-Men. First off - No Silly & Easily Noticable Costumes (with a huge H or the Helix Sign splattered on them) so they are ordinary people with extraordinary gifts. Also Quite Possibly it has a Villain scarier than Darth Vader: Sylar. the Villain remains as a thorn in the Heroes' Side throughout the First and Second Seasons and then takes his place as the lead Villian in Season 3. I love Heroes and having recently got a Blu Ray player, waited patiently for this to come out. Ther series itself is fantastic. Some people didn't like Season 2. I agree it wasn't as good as Season 1 but I enjoyed it nonetheless. At least it tried to be different and some cool new characters were introduced. Picture quality is good but not fantastic. There is an immense amount of detail but sometimes there is too much. I was particularly distracted by the Scenes with Niki as you can clearly see her make up. Sound is average (poor for DTS HD). All dialogue comes from the centre speaker and although other sounds use all speakers as required, I was just as happy listening in Stereo. Extras are patchy for Season 1. ... Heroes has been the best series too be shown on TV in years and this second part of the first season contains the final twelve episodes. The first half of the season was extremely good and if anything the episodes presented here are even better. This does have something to do with the brilliant writing and the involving plot as well as the performances by most of the regular cast members. Despite the more than adequate performances from the cast, this half of Heroes is comprehensively stolen by the various guest stars that crop up now and again. Of particular interest are George Takei, Christopher Eccleston and Malcolm McDowell all of whom are great actors and all of whom steal the show whenever they are on screen. On the down side ... The programme material is fine... my issue is with the packaging. There are 4 episodes each on discs 1 & 2, 2 episodes on disc 3, and 1 episode on disc 4..! Plenty of room to spread the 11 episodes across 3 discs - at a cheaper price. >>More Details

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Part 1 of this series. The story is well written with plenty of questions being thrown up. It is very much a mystery and my curiosity led me to carry on watching this way past my bedtime. I too have found their decision to split the series into two parts for European release a disappointment. Series 1 is now available as a single box set but the pricing is extortionate compared to what USA viewers pay. I'll be watching Part 2 next and hope it maintains the high standard set by Part 1. Heroes is a show you either hate or love! It took me several months and a few viewings of episodes to actually get and enjoy! I actually thought it quite a big rip off compared to X-Men and just thought it was another Mutant X (sorry i thought it was crap)! Its an amazing journey and its nice to see less stand alone episodes of the older style television series of least recent times! By the end of season 1 you SHOULD have enjoyed the development of the story, charectors and their powers! Like so many superheroes and their powers, they develop and theirs are no exception! Film is mainly about a group of scientists who design a chemical that can make people and animals Invisible which is what they test it on at the beginning of the film then they change to Sebastian Cain who offers to have a go and through out the film they have to find a way to reverse it to change him back, but when they try things start to change Cain becomes obsessed to use this technique on something more than just a joke it is more of a new Weaponry for Psycho killers! there are scenes of violence mainly half way through the film which is what makes it bit more appealing for people who are interested in horror films which is what this film is but overall it is good. >>More Details
