When I first heard about this television series, I heard it was the next 'Lost' and that it would be the next phenomenon of the television world. Sadly, I didnt think it lived upto the hype and overall the first episodes were a dissapointment. Although I was very uninspired with 'Heroes' I continued to watch but wasnt too annoyed if I missed an episode. Towards the end of the first season I had developed a passing interest in the programe and I was bordering on actually enjoying it. Finally when the season finale' came ... I had to be in to watch it. Whilst I dont think its anywhere near as good as 'Lost' .... Heroes is still good .... to a certain degree. Some people consider "Bug's Life" as not being on the same level of quality as other Pixar productions, but I really can not agree with them. My daughter clearly wouldn't agree either. This is a very funny movie, with a lot of interesting innovations (we will never look at bugs in the same way, me and my family) and a kind of surprising kindness - even the bad guys are shown with some understanding (having chosen the life of parasite racketeers, they are now trapped by it - as much as their ant victims). The principal hero is possibly one of the most likeable characters I ever saw. I admit first hearing about this i remember thinking that it was an X-Men Rip-off. I'm So Glad that i finally realised that this isn't anything like X-Men. First off - No Silly & Easily Noticable Costumes (with a huge H or the Helix Sign splattered on them) so they are ordinary people with extraordinary gifts. Also Quite Possibly it has a Villain scarier than Darth Vader: Sylar. the Villain remains as a thorn in the Heroes' Side throughout the First and Second Seasons and then takes his place as the lead Villian in Season 3. well i bought this dvd a week ago on the review of 14 people against 1,i can honestly say that this film was excellent! I watched it and wanted more, its a long time since i've seen something as good and enjoyed it as much as i have done this evening. i'm no big american football fan in fact i hav'nt got a clue about the game or even the rules .........but you don't need to know to watch this film. great acting, brilliant film what more can i say... without spoiling the story. This film, in my opinion, has a very weak storyline and would benefit from some funnier jokes. The plot is not very original and although it is one of the worst films I have seen for acting I realise that it was also aimed at wowing the audience with iceskating. This is where the film truly delivers. The skating and the moves almost made me tempted to go to the local ice rink. The actors (or their stunt doubles)must have required so much talent and energy. The only reason that I have given this film three stars is not for the acting, but to the sporting talent. Some of the actors/actresses would be far better off in the winter olympics as opposed to acting. >>More Details

Heroes has been the best series too be shown on TV in years and this second part of the first season contains the final twelve episodes. The first half of the season was extremely good and if anything the episodes presented here are even better. This does have something to do with the brilliant writing and the involving plot as well as the performances by most of the regular cast members. Despite the more than adequate performances from the cast, this half of Heroes is comprehensively stolen by the various guest stars that crop up now and again. Of particular interest are George Takei, Christopher Eccleston and Malcolm McDowell all of whom are great actors and all of whom steal the show whenever they are on screen. I love Heroes and having recently got a Blu Ray player, waited patiently for this to come out. Ther series itself is fantastic. Some people didn't like Season 2. I agree it wasn't as good as Season 1 but I enjoyed it nonetheless. At least it tried to be different and some cool new characters were introduced. Picture quality is good but not fantastic. There is an immense amount of detail but sometimes there is too much. I was particularly distracted by the Scenes with Niki as you can clearly see her make up. Sound is average (poor for DTS HD). All dialogue comes from the centre speaker and although other sounds use all speakers as required, I was just as happy listening in Stereo. Extras are patchy for Season 1. There are ... I really enjoyed this film...much more than I thought I would. The premise of the film is that an unhappy thirtysomething woman is banned from her brother's family Christmas for telling her niece that Santa doesn't exist. She's then visited by a ghost of herself aged 7 with the aim of showing her just how grumpy she has become. What sets this apart from the normal 'straight-to-video' film is the acting from the two female leads. I normally can't stand 'cute' kids in films. Fortunately cute wasn't called for. They played off each other wonderfully and for that reason it was very easy to accept the idea of a ghost. I would recommend this for Christmas Eve viewing....grab a hot chocolate and relax! >>More Details
