After Soprano's came to an end last year over here in blighty last year I was wondering would another series come along to give it a run for it's money.
I'm not sure what people think of David Chase's Mafia Epic but I can imagine cries of overrated being called out, I personally found utterly engrossing TV and simply sublime, I was somewhat sad to see it end but grateful Chase chose it to go out on high and yes I was perfectly happy with the opened ended abrupt ending to the final episode. Chase never was going to do conventional.
While I admit Showtime's Dexter started to fill that void, the 1st season was a great intro to the world of Miami's most interesting serial killer the 2nd season took the concept and ran with ... Read More:

I loved the first series and the second kept me equally enthralled - I had to pace myself not to watch too many episodes in one go as you want to know what happens next.
You need to have watched series one first so coming to it new or mid-episde would be impossible - but I think it is the finest Police TV ever.

after the 1st 2 series, 1st=4star, 2nd=5 star, this is a let down, so only 3 stars.
the whole "hamsterdam" thing is gargage and the actors know it, they look a bit embarrased at having to do something that is not believable and it shows.
overall, its messy and lacks focus.
have even debated with myself to stop watching it and get on with something else instead, whereas the 1st 2 series were riviting.
after this, i dont know if i'll give series 4 a go.
28 Days Later was a great film and was a cute reminder of how basic we could be; Creme De Menthe and candles, Budgens booze counter, say no more. As for the film, great! To film London deserted was a feat in itself. The storyline was conventional (zombies/virus), but the way it was portrayed was exceptional. As for 28 Weeks Later, well, it was definitely a follow-on, but with it's own twist. The ending being the destruction of Europe by those saved at all costs was good. Will we see a third film..? Watch this space.

I disagree with those who think this "remake" as a dull film. What they expected to see ? A godfather film ?
This was a typical horror film which has a certain atmosphere beautiful chicks and suspense especially in the last 30 minutes which is a usual thing for a typical horror movie.
Sure we saw these things before from other horror movies and the killings were not shown entirely that's why i remove 2 stars BUT i think it deserves 3 stars at least and a chance to be in your horror dvd collection together with the early 4 PN films.

Okay, so the good thing about Ray Winstone, is that he's an intense performer. You cannot fault his energy and passion, though sometimes, when the writing isn't strong enough he can fall back on these assets too much. Let me explain. As any of you who saw that drivel 'King Arthur' would have noticed; he tends to go a little OTT. In 'All In The Game' he does this to a cringe-worthy extent. In fact, it leaves you feeling half-gripped and half-embarassed for his out-of-place zeal.
This film has very little poise or cunning in it's approach of the football topic. Clearly catering for a 'lads mag' mindset to football politics - it's simply an extended version of 'Footballer's Wives' but aimed at WKD blokes instead of bingo winged lambrini girls. The writing is clumsy ... Read More:

This is absolutely awful. Stereotype after stereotype although not quite as bad as in the (American) books. Merry old England clichees, a pseudo-Morse (without the great John Thaw's charisma) and a pseudo-Lewis (without Whately's charme). Boring, slow moving, unconvincing. A bloody waste of time.

This wasn't as bad as I expected...and I have such low expectations these days when I watch semi-creepy religious/satanic horror movies like this. I'm basically still recovering from the dross that was 'Stigmata'. The Reaping wasn't even close (thank the lord) and it did pass the time pleasantly enough.
Basically we have jaded ex-missionary Hilary Swank debunking her lil heart out 'cause she's narked off with God and doesn't believe in miracles anymore. Cue one major opportunity to go to some quaint uber-religious town tucked away in Louisiana to help try and debunk away why they seem to be besieged by the ancient biblical plagues of Egypt. Apparently they blame a scruffy little girl from a shunned family who practiced strange cult-y stuff and creeped everyone out. It's ... Read More:
