I don't normally bother to write reviews, but in this case I felt I had to. I have to say previous reviews made it look like this was something worth watching, some even contained comments like "well written". In reality this is not an adult comedy, it will only appeal to someone who is 13 or has a mental age of that or less. Poorly written, improbable characters mixed up with punch lines that are so obvious (and unfunny) it makes you want switch off and stop having your intelligence Insulted. I have to admit I didn't make it to the 2nd or 3rd series as my copy ended up in the bin after only 4 episodes. If this was deemed a classic of the 90's I'm now glad I was overseas the whole time. All the Harry Potter films so far are on UMD discs this review centres around the porduct above. Harry has returned to Hogwarts for his fitih year but even Hogwarts is not safe with the Dark Lord back and Harry is on trial at the ministry of magic. The Minisrty are refuse to acknowlege or accept Voldermort is back and The Defense The Dark Arts lessons are not much help as a ministry member is the new teacher and she refuses to practial defense and the dark arts. Harry and his friends take matters in thier own hands and teach themselves defensive magic, Professor Umbridge take over Hogwarts and Harry and friends take the Dark Lord in a huge fight at the ministry of magic. This was transmitted in two parts in England in 2006 and was one of the television highlights of the year. The basic plot is the re-appearance of a British submarine that was lost and sunk in World War 2, the only survivor is recruited by the admiralty to attempt to discover what happened to the rest of the crew and how the submarine resurfaced. After boarding the sub the investigation team begin to take on characteristics of the original crew and their ultra secret mission, to destroy a top secret target in Russia and set sail to complete this task that was set in motion 65 years previously. I LOVE this film, my favourite thing of all being Mordred. Jason Done, who plays Mordred, gets him spot-on, after watching this film he has become my favourite character! Sam Neill is magnificent as Merlin. The music is excellent, very appropriate and touching in all the right places. The acting is absolutely superb, so brilliantly performed that it is utterly believable. I have never seen such fine acting. All of the charaters are perfectly cast. The writers did an exceptional job weaving the whole story together from all the old writings and legends. Mab and Frik may have been pure invention, but they made sense and helped explain why things happened the way they did. The film quality is the best I have ever seen. Reproductions of lobby cards, premier invites, news clippings, a TSRTS t-shirt, and a mail-in poster offer had me feeling like the long-haired teenager I was so many years ago. The film itself has been masterfully upgraded. The new digital transfer is noticeably sharper and clearer than previous versions, and the sound quality is remarkable, finally doing justice to the virtuousity of the band. While some issue can be raised regarding continuity and the intrusion of the fantasy sequences, one must understand that this was the norm during the excessive '70s.
