Transporter (1) is simply brilliant. Fantastic fight scenes and rollercoaster action that just doesn't stop. Jason Statham is excellent - it's just a shame hollywood is so hung up on always making it's heroes "american" even when they're not! One of the best action films I've seen in years. Transporter 2 isn't as good as the first - it tried to be too much the same film as the original - but it's still definitely worth watching. Get it for The Transporter alone, you won't be disappointed.

I think I have been spoilt. Watching the new BBC version of Tess inspired me to watch this ITV version again and in my opinion, it doesn't come close to matching it!
One thing it it's favour is that I love Oliver Milburn as Angel! He is gorgeous and this is worth watching for him alone. I think the chemistry he and Justine Waddell share is electric. I am not so convinced of Justine as Tess. She lacks the innocence of Tess and I found her acting a bit forced.
The most annoying thing for me though is the commentary all the way through. Talk about ruining the moment! Whoever came up with that idea should have been sacked.
Perhaps I have been too harsh. It is a moving portrayal of the story and I did cry at ... Read More:

Really a great set of twin gangster movies!! Unlike American shoot'em ups, these two have more gangster attitudes and darkness to them than blood and gore! By watching both movies it is obvious that they were directed by the same Guy Ritchie which uses a similar style for both movies but with their own uniqueness.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: More of a gangster movie than Snatch and there were more spectacular camera shots that caught my eye, such as the extreme close ups on the pupils of the eye and their contraction as a way of emphasizing the responses and thoughts of the characters. The plot tends to get more and more complicated as the movie progresses and then an unexpected ending that ends the whole movie and sort of ... Read More:

I love this film.
Fast - funny - pacy and full of great true to life characters - it is the closest thing to perfection.
It is right up there with Get Carter - Till Death Us Do Part and A Clockwork Orange.
The best thing to come out of British Cinema for more than 20 years - I would love a sequal.

Whilst not going to win any oscars - this sequel is a treat for action fans, full of great cars stunts, great fights and of course pretty women.
Staham reprises his role as rent a courier Frank Martin, this time filling in for a friend, and transporting a young child to and from school.
The child is kidknapped, and before you can say Man on fire, Statham is out to rescue him.
Whilst not original (or if thought prevails - logical) in plot, this is a fast and diverting film that simply does not slow from the opening car park fight scene to the brilliant Audi verses Miami police cruisers car chase and a final fight showdown on a plunging private jet.
this film is absolutely brilliant, its been out for 5 years or so and i still find it as good as the first time i watched it, vinnie jones playes a good part in this film, but i think everyones favorite charecter would be MONK (jason statham)

Johnny Depp plays a detective who is addicted to Opium. While spaced out he has dreams that have a habit of coming true.He sees faces and events involved in murders that he later has to investigate. The film tells the story of Jack the Ripper and gives a very believable account of a Royal being involved, along with freemasons and elements within the Police force trying to cover up a scandal that would lead straight back to the Queen. There is some bad language,a touch of nudity,a lot of violence, cleverly handled, but i think the 18 Cert is a little harsh. Both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed this film and we highly recommend it.

Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels is a crime tale about a group of friends from London who happen to lose a game of poker, they end up in a lot of debt thus having to get out of it. The story takes many twists & turns and will also make you laugh as it has a very good use of wry & dark humor. The plot evolves around one man but there are many characters who share as if not more an important role. The star of the show in this movie is Vinnie Jones who acts brilliantly.
I recomed 'Snatch' If you like this.

The plus: The movie is pleasantly filmed in a beautiful setting of country houses in rural Italy; unconventionally overt display of sexual relationship and naturist display; true love triumphed and rewarded in the end with the joyful first-times.
The minus: flawed script, unfocused story where the journey of discovering the identity of father and resuming of youthful love is distracted to an explicit and needless anecdotes of naturist playing, love-making and sexual mind games. It is unconvincing and has little reality touch. There is also a myriad of strange yet underdeveloped characters. Directors seems could not decide on following a core storyline and instead packed the movie with large quantity of sub plots and supporting characters.
This is certainly an enjoyable film and is not overblown. I came to the film with low expectations and was pleased that these were quelled. My only canard is the brief foray the film makes into the high politics of Jacobitism. The Duke of Argyll was only 33 in 1713, but in this film he's middle aged at least. As commander in chief in Scotland he was a strong Whig and thus anti-Jacobite. It would have been good to have seen Roy's ambiguous behaviour during the Fifteen, too, but that would have been another story. There's a degree of anti-Englishness in the film, but its not too blatant. However, though not a great film, it is an agreeable way to pass a couple of hours.
