This is exactly what you would expect of a "Chipmunk" film. Lots of hilarious slapstick humour, silly, but predictable storyline, plus the enigmatic, if somewhat over-egged Chipmunk voices.
Storyline, of this mixed real film and CGI, is basically of an aspiring songwriter, struggling to write any kind of song, which is where Alvin, Theodore and Simon come in. From there the hilarities start and the predictable plot unwinds.
Not really for "adults", but for all kids everywhere, this is a great film. We put it on in the car for the kids whilst we were driving on holiday, and there was blissful peace from the back, apart from the regular bouts of laughter.

I LOVE the Disk World series and was very much looking forward to this film. It's a great adaptation of the first two books AND there's an interview with Terry at the beginning, which is almost worth the price of the dvd on its own. The man is seriously funny.
I know that Terry endorsed the choice of David Jason as Rincewind, but I'm sorry, he's just not Rincewind. He gave it his best shot, and David is a national treasure and a great actor - but he just wasn't the best man for the job in this case.
Sean Astin did his best as Twoflower, the Tourist.
The Luggage was excellent, but didn't feature as much as I would have liked.
It was great to see Tim Curry brought out of seclusion to play Trymon, the baddie and all the ... Read More:

This is Underdog [2007]a great film, disney at its best. I took my children to see it at the pictures and we had to wait ages until it came out on DVD. We have all watched it so many times that we know the script off by heart. All the characters work really well together, who wouldn't want a talking dog, it's funny for both young and old, leaves you with a happy feeling.

I watched The Incredibles with my 4 year old son this afternoon. This was the second attmept at watching it after we had to switch it off some months before because the film became too intense for him. He wanted to watch it again ("All the way through this time!") and so we settled down, turned down the lights and amped up the 5.1 surround sound.
The first ten minutes had me laughing at Mr Incredible's attempts to do his duty as a superhero whilst aiming to attend what is obviously a very important function on time.
This sequence is hectic, exciting and fun. The film then slows down somewhat, and I thought my son might begin to fidget and become bored, but he didn't and the film soon livened up again.
Some later sequences are genuinely ... Read More:

It's such a shame that this series, bar a couple of episodes failed to live up to the high standards of 1 and 2. Completely agree with the reviewer whose first impulse was to buy this then realised that it wouldn't be watched and would be money wasted. Shame about the writers strike...shame about the prison and coma themes running too long. Understandably, most shows need some kind of re-inventing, and fresh character arcs to keep the interest up. I loved this show but sadly it feels that Earls creative sponge has been wrung dry. Although I would love for them to prove me wrong. Maybe doing a 4th series knowing before time it will be the last, could help the writers and producers end Earl with a high quality big bang.

This is an interesting film; a good solid whodunit combined with a bit of Americans-in-combat-angst. Usually such a mixture would result in a mess, but in this case they fit together wonderfully well. There are lots of good performances linked to two main ones from the female cop (Charlize Theron) and Tommy Lee Jones as the institutionalised ex-military policeman. If the film has a theme (other than just a damned good plot) it is to do with the lack of male communication. This is admirably communicated by Jones in his at times robotic performance. Is it grief at the death of his son or is a life of polishing shoes and creasing trousers just ingrained, the story does not feel the need to tell us; which is very much part of the theme? But Jones suggests both; such that ... Read More:

This is an all time classic, one of THE greatest movies that will ever be made. It sits third on my Top 5 list, falling only behind Casino and Goodfellas.
There are lot's of reviews for this movie already, so I will keep mine brief.
Buy this film, watch it and fall in love with it like everyone else. It is quite simply a masterpiece that will pull every one of your emotions out of you. This movie shows River Phoenix at his greatest, and untouchable piece of acting that goes far beyond the limits of his script.
If ever a movie deserved 5 stars, this is it.

Rincewind the wizard was never my favorite Terry Pratchett character, but I have to say they did a fine job turning this book into a three-hour film. (Or two TV episodes, whatever.) It had a good cast, including Jeremy Irons and the toothsome newcomer Laura Haddock, who did a fine job in the role as octogenarian Cohen The Barbarian's fair maiden.
Most of all, the dragons, buildings, and space turtles were detailed and beautiful to behold, created on a budget which would have lasted a Hollywood studio through lunch time. We are clearly out of the age where a TV production would have inferior graphics.
I'm hoping they will continue to make films from Pratchett's books, there's a wealth of humor, great stories and outlandish ideas to explore.

I really love this film and have watched it over and over.
Kevin Smith's films are, on the face of it, pretty silly. The humour often appears rather of the 'toilet' variety. But then, he'll just slip in a little barb and I think, well, maybe there is something to this, after all. He does it with this film, right from the start, with an apology to all Duck Billed Platypus lovers. Ten minutes later, there's Alan Rickman, sporting a fine pair of wings, claiming to be The Metatron (i.e. Voice of God) and complaining bitterly to Linda Fiorentino who has just doused him with a fire extinguisher.
What I didn't realise the first time I watched this film is just who all the actors are. Linda Fiorentino plays an abortion clinic doctor who turns out to be the 'Last ... Read More:
