This is an amazing film, top notch i have seen all of the trilogy and this film is possibly the best, ignore any one who has rated this 1 star and has said they have only watched 30min of it, the film goes on for awhile but that makes it all the better in my opinion, the cast is amazing as always with even more new characters, the effects are quality and has a great story, i strongly recomend this to any one who loves the other two films and has not watched this film yet, and to any film lover, because i think any one can enjoy this, but would be an easier watch if the first two films were watched first, but this is one of the best trilogy's ever made, if not the best. >>More Details

Due to so many varied reviews on Amazon about the individual DVD's in the series,I will limit my comments just to say that this box set represents superb family entertainment whatever your age and is possibly one of the best value box sets around. As family viewing goes,it will keep the kids quiet for hours but the individual films are lengthy so spread your viewing over a couple of weekends to prevent over doing it.The movies themselves are great fun and with so many gruesome characters, make sure the more nervous ones in your family who are old enough to watch have someone to snuggle up to,just in case. I'll probably be lynched for this heresy!... but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're a diehard fan of one of the actors, or just a special effects geek. This film wanders around, without much of a plot, relying far too heavily on humour [!??] and special effects. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but want to, but it destroys relationships, with characters betraying one another instead of standing together. Before you watch this movie (and then dismiss it, as others have done, as incomprehensible and bizarre) you MUST either read or listen to the book or audio book. Having done both, I can happily report that Terry Gilliam has done a first class job (with Hunter S Thompson's blessing) of creating this overlooked masterpiece. The lead roles of Duke (Johnny Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) are expertly and accurately portrayed, much as I imagined they would be when reading the book. Furthermore, the support characters and Vegas ambience adds to the mix. In short, read the book, then watch the movie ...... and don't stop in bat country. >>More Details

One thing you are certain of with a Tim Burton film, is that it will be a visual feast, and Sleepy Hollow is no exception. You have to keep reminding yourself that it is a colour film, as Burton makes the whole thing look so washed out and, to a point, sepia. You will realise just how washed out the movie looks when after viewing it, take a look at the original cinema trailer (an extra on this DVD) - it almost leaps off the screen with bright colours. But the washed out misty look is best for this film and just adds to the sense of unease and forboding. Johnny Depp does indeed "camp it up a storm" as Constable Ichabod Crane, one of the NYPD's earliest stars it seems. I love these movies, some of the best Horror around. BUT THESE FILMS ARE STILL CUT.. the running time given here and on the box is wrong, these times are the American edtions, if you watch the films you will see they are shorter than the time given on the box, altogether around 30 minutes in total {4/5 minutes each film}.
