I agree with a previous ctitic, this film had most of the ingredients to make a memorable film - except the screenplay. It was fine until a certain point, then went to hell. Don't buy it, rent it if you feel you've got to see it.

This is an amazing film, top notch i have seen all of the trilogy and this film is possibly the best, ignore any one who has rated this 1 star and has said they have only watched 30min of it, the film goes on for awhile but that makes it all the better in my opinion, the cast is amazing as always with even more new characters, the effects are quality and has a great story, i strongly recomend this to any one who loves the other two films and has not watched this film yet, and to any film lover, because i think any one can enjoy this, but would be an easier watch if the first two films were watched first, but this is one of the best trilogy's ever made, if not the best.

Due to so many varied reviews on Amazon about the individual DVD's in the series,I will limit my comments just to say that this box set represents superb family entertainment whatever your age and is possibly one of the best value box sets around.
As family viewing goes,it will keep the kids quiet for hours but the individual films are lengthy so spread your viewing over a couple of weekends to prevent over doing it.The movies themselves are great fun and with so many gruesome characters, make sure the more nervous ones in your family who are old enough to watch have someone to snuggle up to,just in case. In fact,in some of the scenes,I could have done with snuggling up to someone myself!
This is great entertainment and if you have not seen the ... Read More:

This film has a lot of potential, but fell flat on its face. The cinematography was lovely, but the majority of the characters were shallow and superficial. The character of Vera should have been complex, and it needed a much more experienced and more talented actress to give her justice. Keira Knightley doesn't act, she just says her lines with a silly smirk on her face, giving the audience no insight whatsoever into what she's thinking and feeling, and just left me feeling lost and confused and feeling no sympathy towards her character at all. Dylan Thomas was portrayed to be a horrible and self-centred man and I couldn't understand why both Vera and Caitlin were all over him, while William Killick, the only decent and believable character in the whole film, ... At the time of writing, I am the 315th to review this DVD, so here's my twopennyworth. There is no need to relay the story, for if you don't know it by now ...
There is an amazing long opening take in this film. In fact there are a number of several long takes. On a technical level, there are a number of fresh and exciting scenes to ponder, such as Lizzie twirling on the farmhouse swing as the seasons pass around her. Or the window-work of Lizzie's own home as the family settles down to its night-time occupations room by room. Or Lizzie staring in the mirror at the home of Mr Collins as day turns to night. And here Mr D'Arcy arrives and leaves his letter, departing in the half-light. In the commentary that accompanies the DVD, Joe Wright expands on ... Read More:

I'll probably be lynched for this heresy!... but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're a diehard fan of one of the actors, or just a special effects geek.
This film wanders around, without much of a plot, relying far too heavily on humour [!??] and special effects. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but want to, but it destroys relationships, with characters betraying one another instead of standing together.
Not a 'Feel Good' film, and not a PATCH on Pirates I, Curse of the Black Pearl.

Swashbuckling pirates, cursed baddies, sea battles, sword fighting, danger and a good deal of rum - WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!? Johnny Depp's FAB! With a great array of back-stage animators creating the 'cursed' affect, Pirates of the Caribbean is your perfect family film! Plus, it's absolutely hilarious!
Some say this is the best, but I'll leave that to you to decide. But there is one thing I DO know - and that is that after you've watched POTC 1, there's no stopping you until you've seen all three!!!

The Plot
At the tender age of 16, Georgiana Cavendish (Kiera Knightley) is married off to the dark, distant Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes). To the outside world, Georgina is the darling of London society. But behind the smiles, she hides pain and heartache of a crumbling marriage, due to her inability to bear an heir.
The Review
The perfect replacement for David Tennant in the TARDIS is....Kiera Knightley. Why? Well, she seems to be stuck in the past, with her last three films (I'll just gloss over the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) have been period pieces, so she could probably do with a time machine to get back to the present day.
However, having Knightley stuck in the past is no bad thing for film fans. As the young Duchess of Devonshire, ... Read More:
