Great film, awesome performance by the Joker and 2 face. However, there are 2 reasons why i only gave this film 4 stars.
1. Batmans voice is ridiculous. Its the worse put on gravely voice in film and really grinds on me, esp the last scene with the joker.
2. Why oh why is that goon Caine, Alfred the butler. Cockney butler for one of the worlds richest tycoons - unlikely. I prefered Michael Gough, a classy English accent.

Could the movie live up to the hype? Most definitely. Buy this film if only to see Heath Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch-enemy the Joker. His performance is worth the cost of the blu-ray alone. I always though that Jack Nicholson's performance would set the standard, but Heath Ledger's Joker knocks that into a hat.
This is a continuance of the Dark Knight created originally by Bob Kane and later re-invented by Frank Miller. Batman ain't Mr NIce Guy and nor should he be. In fact Batman comes across as harder and possibly mentally unstable but then again to wear latex and a cape you have to be a bit mad.
If I found one fault in the film, it would be that it is too long. I would have rather this had been extended and ... Read More:

I remember the first Batman with Michael Keaton playing the part of Batman and Jack Nicholson playing the Joker and the hype surrounding it. At the time I thought it was a pretty good film. Then the sequels happened and various big name actors played the parts of both our hero and the villains. They films got worse each time they mad another.
After a few years off Christian Bale became Batman and he plays the part to perfection. This film is even better then Batman Begins (Or Batman 5) and Heath Ledger is amazing in the part of the Joker. It is sad that this is his last film and his greatest performance.
The plot is based upon the standard super hero film. The action and sets are fantastic. What sets it apart is Heath as the Joker. ... Read More:

This is an eclectic collection of love tales set in Paris , some slightly dull and some just brilliant . The whole movie is worth watching just because of the Coen brothers film with Steve Buscemi and the romance between a boy and a vampire.
There are a lot of familiar faces in the movie and the short films a generally well directed , just because is 18 of them , it feels a little short.

OK, so I may be alone in thinking this, but the obvious comparison for this movie is The Truman Show and yet, it's so much better than The Truman Show! Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson are excellent and convincing. The story resonates long after the film ends. The script and visuals are a treat. It's both thought-provoking and entertaining. It simply deserves to be seen.

Donnie Darko (Gyllenhaal) suffers from visions of a rabbit called Frank who orders him to commit a series of crimes and tells him that the world will end in 28 days time.
The Sci-Fi genre has always been open as to what is out there in the universe, discovering new and exciting worlds and dimensions, and an ideology which today is still being experimented with is time travel, which is explored beautifully in Richard Kelly's absorbing and open Sci-Fi drama.
Can time travel be achieved? With all the evidence collected in this 2001 film it seems so, and the persistent view, looking at all the possibilities such as worm holes and vessels carries all the way through to an open and stunning climax as we follow one of the most interesting characters ... As you might guess from the cover this film is an over-hyped farce. It pretends to be some sort of daring look at an unconventional relationship, but by the last scene its clear that the couple have settled down to a quiet life in suburbia. Secretary is basically a weak love story beefed up with a hint of s and m.
You might have thought that the days when a sexy movie poster would sell a film were gone; alas slick marketing can still make an utterly underwhelming film into fairly big box office. I cannot remember being so disappointed by any other film I have seen, it is sterile rubbish dressed up as an "alternative" movie. Anyone who thinks there is anything daring or shocking here needs to get out more.

Donnie Darko is by far my favourite film. No other film reaches deep inside of me and carries me away like Donnie Darko does.
Many of my friends hate it because they "don't understand it" or "it doesn't make sense". They just don't get it though. Of course there are flaws but that is why it is one of the greatest films created in recent years. Whatever your thoughts, it makes you think.
The storyline is the most imaginative I have come across, every actor and actress is perfect for their role, every song is beautiful and the camera work is stunning.
I can think of a few words to describe Donnie Darko - dark, upsetting, thought provoking and beautiful.
This really is as bad as people say!
TV movie quality at best, totally unconvincing, completeleley detached - try the far better UNITED 93 for the sheer terror and inevitability. This may well be Stone & Cage's worst film.
Just does not convince and feels more like a VERY bad Hollywood Disaster movie, in which case you may as well watch The Towering Inferno!
As a serious docu drama it's a miserable failure.

Maggie Gyllenhaal plays a great addict/loser in this rather depressing and dull film. I kept it on fast forward for most of the film and got what was going on without having to listen to too much of it. Not recommended - not even for Maggie's great body - which you do see quite a lot of.
