I loves films, but I am no connoisseur, this was one of the rare occasions that my wife and I did not see a movie all the way through,we found it too weird,so it came to an abrupt end. Was there something we missed?

An interesting film about the very negative and inhumane consequences of the security policy that followed 9/11, though it was present already before. I got one of these famous letters giving you two weeks to leave the USA when I was in North Carolina, though I had been on a wrong visa for nine months and the immigration services knew about it and just tolerated it because I had to fulfill a contract that had been signed and the fault was that of a dumb bureaucrat in the US consulate in Bordeaux. 9/11 only increased the tension and made that policy a lot more systematic. But it is totally false to believe that this security policy is only trying to identify the illegal immigrants in the USA. The real aim is not to terrorize them (which it does of ... Read More:

I am afraid this movie is one of the most boring, slow and mind numbing I have had the misfortune to watch in a long time.. The cast are very "pretty", but that is all that can be said. Don't waste your time take a nice long soak in the bath instead.. Much more enjoyable..

Under Suspicion [1991] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

starring: Liam Neeson, Kenneth Cranham, Maggie O'Neill, Alan Talbot, Malcolm Storry
directed by: Simon Moore

I am astonished to be the (apparently) first person to put a review on this....15 years after the film was released. Under Suspicion has to be one of the most memorable, cleverest thrillers we've seen in a long, long time; maybe even as far back as Dressed to Kill. The whodunnit plot is excellent and full of red herrings, the acting utterly convincing, film noir screenplay outstanding and the twist at the very end left us open-mouthed and immediately we re-wound the tape and watched the film all over again. I think this actually is Liam Neeson's finest performance, even better than Schindler's List. The courtroom/jail scene is compelling. I think the critics must have been asleep to write anything less than what is written here.

This film was very intriguing and the narration by the dead girl was very effective. My fav part was Toby Moore who played one of the love interests. WHAT A BABE! It is at least worth watching to see him esp walk around shirt! oohhhhh!! But defo a movie worth watching!

The Incredibly True Adventure of 2 Girls in Love [1996] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

starring: Laurel Holloman, Nicole Ari Parker, Maggie Moore, Kate Stafford, Sabrina Artel
directed by: Maria Maggenti

I only took a liking to this film when I watched it with the director's commentary. It's an incredibly sweet story about a black girl from an upper middle classed background and a white girl from a working class background. The story isn't so complex, but then that's not what this film is about. It's incredibly sunny and optimistic, which at first seems unrealistic. For example, the ending is more like a comedy sketch, and a teenager dating a thirty-something broad seems really unlikely. But it's about coming out, finding your first love - and I think that is very well portrayed. Randy and Evie are remarkably cute, and I wonder why I haven't seen them elsewhere.

This is clearly a budget film - if you watch closely, you'll see there are about ... Read More:
