OMG this was just awful, watched it with my girlfriend one unlucky Friday night. The acting was so dreadful, didn't care about any of the characters and the whole thing was really contrived. Terrible movie which is a shame coming from the same people who brought us The Devil Wears Prada.
PS, guys do not get this for your woman unless she is OK with you vomiting.

I recall seeing the original of this starring Charles Grodin. With a great script by the brilliant Neil Simon, it was witty, intelligent and infinitely more subtle than this Farrelly Brothers update. I say `update' and not `remake' because apart from the initial premise it bears no resemblance to the Grodin movie and features the usual gross-out comedy that is the Farrelly Brothers trademark.
Ben Stiller plays, as always, Ben Stiller... a likeable guy who finds circumstances going out of his control. Just as well he's good at what he does... Another plus point is the performance of Ben's real-life father Jerry, who plays his dad. More famous for his over the top performances in 'Seinfeld' as George Costanza's (Jason Alexander) pop ... Katherine Heigl plays a brilliant love-sick assistant who is waiting in the wings for her boss to fall for her. I love her in Grey's Anatomy but have to admit not a fan of Knocked Up so was overjoyed that she fitted into her role in this film. Everyone else was excellent but you cannot sit through a rom-com if you don't like the central character. The only negative there can be about this film is the scene before the last, I won't ruin it, but the main male character's reaction should have been reworked. This however can not bring a good film too far down; especially as it has what I have been rooting for for ages- the female to male slap. Yes it sounds silly but in real life there are circumstances where women will more than willingly react by slapping ... Read More:

If you liked Dumb and Dumber (the first one) then you'll like this one as well. I don't literally laugh out loud too often but this movie with its quirky sense of humor almost had me in tears a couple of times. As you can see by the initial 2 reviews (1 with 5 points, 1 with 1 point) this is a love/hate movie so again ask yourself if you like movies such as Dumb and Dumber. If they're not your cup of tea you might want to steer clear of The Brothers Solomon.

"27 dresses" is a mildly entertaining comedy that doesn't really rise above average, but makes you laugh from time to time, and has some clever one liners that are quite funny.
The main character is Jane Nichols (Katherine Heigl), a woman that adores weddings, and has made a hobby out of being a bridesmaid. She would love to get married, and has already found the right man for her, George (Edward Burns), her boss. Unfortunately, he sees Jane as a friend, and falls head over heels in love for someone else, who happens to be Jane's younger sister, Tess (Malin Akerman). Things get even more confusing for Jane when Kevin (James Marsden), a handsome and somewhat cynical journalist that covers weddings, enters the picture.
