if like me you are purchasing this to watch on a sensical basis starting from the beginning of the groups formation upto the famous murders , then you are gonna be dissapointed

could have been better like the Zodiac or the ed geins ... Read More:

The first thing you have to understand that this is not just a B-movie based on a bunch of murders and making a true story an excuse to make alot of bloody death scenes put into a film.
This is actually a fairy realistic film of the true events of the Manson family murders and dont get me wrong, this film has some terribly violent scenes, yet the vast length of this film is mainly about the events that lead to the murders and what caused the poeple to do what they did. That-plus-there is a little twist at the end which sees the manson family uprising again.
The acting isnt all magnificent and you can tell this is a budget film, but due to its extreme realism and surprisingly good picture (thanks to the surprisingly good DVD), this ... Read More:

I think this film is put together really well and I was deliberating giving it more stars.

From accounts I have read of the brutal killings it certainly seems to be realistic, but for me, it was too realistic in that it has left me feeling sick.

I think there are ways of getting the point across without being so graphic, (spoiler) for instance do I want to watch 5 minutes of continual graphic bloodied stabbings and shootings and then watch somebody bludgeoning a corpses bare buttocks. I don't think I have ever had to turn away before as the film literally spelt out every stab and bullet wound.
