I first saw this film on sky recently and loved it! The only other Audrey Hepburn Film i'd seen was of course, Breakfast At Tiffanys, and i'd never seen Peter o'Toole in action as a young man, only as the old man i know him as today. Im a sucker for romantic comedys and this was right up my street. The storyline being, Audrey Hepburn is a heiress who lives in Paris with her father who is a master art forger, as was his father before him, and one night, home alone she hears a burglar downstairs. She investigates and finds a rather dapper Peter o'Toole attempting to steal one of her father's Van Gogh. After injuring him with her fathers pistol, she finds herself talking to him and discovering he's very charming! So charming in fact she ends up ... Read More:

Everybody loves a good Cinderella story, especially if it has a dash of realism and a sense of humour. And unbaked souffles.
And methinks it also helps the case if you have Audrey Hepburn as the modern Cinderella-with-a-wit, which is the strongest point in the charming little romance called "Sabrina." While the chemistry between Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart is never entirely believable, the movie is as buoyant and whimsical as a summer daydream, but with way better dialogue ("Bounce please, ladies").
Sabrina Fairchild (Hepburn) is the daughter of the chauffeur at the palatial Larabee estate. She's also in love with the ne'er-do-well second son, David (William Holden) -- and even attempts suicide after seeing him with one ... Read More:

Putting two and two together, rock Hudson realizes that his party line antagonist is a blonde cutie.

On watching it my wife decided she had ordered the wrong film. Not a promising start! However it is not bad, actually quite funny in places, quite compelling observations of the social hierarchy at the time and very distinctively French. What was the Revolution for? Bring back the guillotine! Not very sympathetic characters anyway. The film could be rated highly for what it was when it was made, but much of that is dated or taken for granted nowadays, (...).

Im not a great lover of John Wayne movie's but you can't help but laugh and enjoy Donovan's reef.
Set on the beutifull island of Kuaui, although called Haleakaloa in the film, starring Wayne, Lee Marvin, Jack Warden and Elizabeth Allen, Donovan's Reef is a feel good film that doesn't take itself too seriously. The plot is a basic one and hardly original but the cast act it out very well and there seem's to be a genuine chemistry, especially between Wayne, Marvin and Allen.
Sun, sea, sand, beer, bikini's, Wayne and Marvin kicking ten bells out of eachother, Donovan's Reef is the perfect film to watch on a wet and cold Sunday or if you are looking for a 'pick me up'.
Plenty of laughs and beutifull scenery, enjoy!

This film is based on the Ernest Hemingway novel The Snows Of Kilimanjaro. Gregory Peck plays the part of a writer, Harry Street, who is a wounded hunter on safari in West Africa. Street suffers with a fever while his long suffering wife Helen, played by Susan Hayward, tries to comfort him and keep him away from the demon drink. Street remembers the past, amid his fever, including varied adventures and past love. Gregory Peck is suitable as the romantic lead, though the big sets and artificial trees, filmed against a huge painting of Mount Kilimanjaro rob the film of the impact which the film would have possessed had the film actually been shot in Africa. Ava Gardner’s smoldering presence is a shining light in this production and one actor that helps to ... Read More:
