Really enjoyed this, easy watching post New Years excess. Feels very old fashioned, it's a simple story but well executed and beautifully shot. Sophie Marceau is brilliant in this, and decidedly easy on the eye. This is not the most French film you will ever see, nor the most clever or life changing, but it is bloody good.

Ignore the Amazon synopsis; it refers to the wrong film, but that may be ironed out by the time you read this!

I won't review the film because those who reviewed the VHS version have done that well, except to say that I agree that it's a lovely film; funny and touching.

If you are thinking of upgrading to the DVD version, don't bother, unless you've worn it out. The transfer is one of the worst I've seen. The sloppy work is shown by the following:

Sound is ordinary and still makes it very difficult to follow the French.
No proper anamorphic widescreen (you have to fill the screen manually to 16:9 , thus losing the definition and saturation.)
Colour is wishy-washy.
Picture is grainy.
