I barely remember Taxi whenit was shown on BBC2 ages ago,but i had been
following it on Paramount Comedy channel untill now,and enjoyed it immensely. Now,finally Taxi has been granted a Region 2 release after being Region 1 for so long.Truly a great series with very likable characters and the blossoming of Danny Devito's career.A pity then that some of the other actors seemingly faded away into near obscurity. A must for all Cheers and even Frasier fans,as the writing and pacing shown here lay the foundations for those shows,and many others. Buy it,and lets hope the following seasons get a Region 2 release to! >>More Details |

Although I enjoyed it immensely the first time, this hysterical showbiz farce, gets funnier with each viewing. It is also a good idea to watch it at least once with the subtitles on, since the dialogue is extremely fast paced. The the ensemble cast is delightful. Michael Caine plays the two-timing director with his usual perfection, and Carol Burnett plays the temperamental leading lady with her usual panache. Both John Ritter and Christopher Reeve are very funny, the former as the neurotic leading man and the latter as a dim-witted method actor who has to have his off-stage beat for removing a box of groceries explained to him. Johnny Dangerously is on of the funniest films ever made and really is a great unrealistic look on the gang world in the 1930's. it has a good cast and great legendry directory if i were you i would pay any money just to watch this superb movie.

There was only one reason why I couldn't mark this down to one star. That reason is star quality. Catherine Zeta-Jones brings a certain element of respectability to this movie that was clearly made for TV, as well as the presence of some guy from the OC as a self-sacrificing rich guy who would rather save his girl than himself. So to the plot: Well we all know the story of the Titanic. Sails a bit, hits an Iceberg, sinks. Should be able to sum that up in five minutes right? OH NO. NO SIR. In fact, it's more like four hours, but hey, let's not hold that against it. There is actually some decent interaction between a few of the characters, though the acting is as wooden as a Ship. These are the things about the movie that I would consider worthwhile:
1. Erika Eleniak - not only does she look amazing, she also seems to be nice to a fault. It is hard not to fall a little bit in love with her, not only because of who she is personally, but also because she adds to the story in such a convincing and meaningful way. It is hard not to wish she was the girl next door - just imagine that!! ;-) 2. The movie is quite funny. 3. It is a story about right and wrong, redemption, heart, love - stuff like that, and it tells the story in a really good way, and the actors all support that story in a good good way. 4. As a conesuer of quality Batman stories (see my other reviews!) I liked this one. Not quite as good as 'Mask of the Phantasm' but that's pretty stiff opposition!
The story is excellent, it's well animated in true Batman Neo-forties-Gothic and the voices are superb as they always are in these animations. Get this one, Bat-fans, and you won't be dissapointed! >>More Details |

As a conesuer of quality Batman stories (see my other reviews!) I liked this one. Not quite as good as 'Mask of the Phantasm' but that's pretty stiff opposition!
