This is a decent movie, but not what I expected. The acting and everything regarding the production is good but its the portayal of Ali himself that annoys me. Sure, they show his couragousness, his bravery, his greatness in the ring .... but where is Ali's legendary witt and sense of humour, its simply not there. The most noteable thing about Ali, when watching the interviews he conducted at that time, was his humour, his wit and his sense of fun .... none of that is present in this movie. Instead they portray Ali as a quite subdued and softly spoken individual with none of the personality. Its not Will Smith's fault as he turns in a quality performance ... but the film doesnt capture the man himself and not as we knew him. Obviously there ... Read More:

A short summation. Jaws 2 was a respectable sequel, let down only by Scheider's lacklustre performance (he reportedly didnt want to do the film, but was contractually obliged to) and by the incessant girly screaming in the catamaran sequences in the 2nd half ("aaaaaaah...a shark....get the boys to deal with it..." etc.) Certainly not the Moby Dick-esque tour-de-force of the "3-Men-In-A-Boat against the marine behemoth" first film (still one of the best films ever made), but more of a teen-slasher Halloween cheap thrills affair for winter popcorn nights in.
The 3rd film was just plain boring. At least they attempted to intercut real footage of sharks for some of the sequences, which added to the reality, although the rubber close ... Read More:

This is a must-see. Although I usually wouldn't watch army films, I made a big exception because of Eastwood - and was pleasantly surprised. A very funny due to Eastwood's wonderfully dry humor!

Well the bizareness continues and bizarely enough, I think I preferred Highlander II!! But oddly enough that was just like another Highlander two as it completely ignored all that had happened in number two (rightly enough as it was pretty random) but was just like the "alternative" sequel, pick which one you like best, but they are both CRAZY! Wasn't so keen on this one in general, the premise being that Highlander had made a mistake in the first one, he wasn't actually THE ONLY ONE and is persued by dodgy hulk guy. He also has a son(adopted) and of course the usual lady. Lots of coarse bits in it which were quite unnecessary and of course the usual head chopping. I am in no way defending Highlander II either, but I found the total laughable disbelief ... Read More:

This was a good film Wesley Snipes was awesome as the main character Nino Brown he was the despicable character in the film by far however he had charisma and commanded the screen during the scenes he had it was most probably the best performance of his acting career he seems to have degraded into the typecast action man role today which is a shame because he showed real talent here Ice T plays Scotty Appleton a police officer who desperately wants to bring Nino down his acting doesn't leave too much of an impression im afraid in some of the more intense scenes he seemed pathetic and was massively outshined by Wesley Snipes and some of the other actors the film is good if you want a decent little crime film but do not watch it expecting a Tarantino like film because ... "Drugs ain't a black thing, or a white thing. It's a death thing. Death don't give a s*** about color."-Nick Perrti
I first saw this in 1993 and was totally blown away by the directing, cinematography, script and acting and so I was really looking forward to seeing it again after an absence of almost thirteen years. But after seeing this a second time, I could scarcely believe I was watching a film I had remembered very well. In 1994 I would have given this film 5 out of 5 but instead I've given it a 4 due to its frail ending.
New Jack City (1991) is an interesting movie that aims to please. This film marks the first time Mario Van Peebles directed a theatrical released film (that his father helped co-write) and he co-stars in the film as well. The ... Read More:

After the dire Jaws 3 I was hoping this would re-energise the series. The opening certainly filled me with optimism, as with its excellent camera-work it looks very creepy, and the death of the younger Brody brother is very effectively-handled. But then it all falls apart like a rotten haddock. Mrs Brody (now a widow) goes to stay with her surviving son's family in the Bahamas (laughably fake accents abound). But the new shark on the block has followed her, intends to exact revenge for the death of its relatives. As if that wasn't idiotic enough, we are treated to people being crushed in the shark's jaws and then turning out to be alright after all cartoon-style. Considering this is 15, there's a ridiculously small bodycount. Mrs Brody, meanwhile, has flashbacks of things ... Read More:

Shows how men who have been cheated, oppressed & abused by authourity can make up their own minds clearly; focus on & achieve laudable goals despite being misunderstood or undervalued. Great story about how man should respect man irrespective of their background. Great cast, great acting.

I ordered this film for Black History month, and I really enjoyed this film. I found the concept of this film extremely good! It changed my perception of black history, history in general, the importance of family as an institution, and the underlying capacity to heal problems in the present day, regardless of colour race or creed.
