Though the story line has been done so many times it's a great film. I'd seen this several times as a teenager and still think of it the same way. This movie really has less to do with Madonna and more to do with Rosanna Arquette.
It's hard to imagine anybody not coming across this film but if you haven't it starts out with Roseanna Arquette who plays Roberta Glass, a bored New Jersey housewife, who constantly follows the on-going relationship of Jim and Susan. One day, Roberta decides that she would really like to meet Susan, so she places an add in the paper, telling Susan to meet Roberta at Battery Park in New York City. Susan (played by Madonna) shows up, but is arrested because of cab fair. Roberta is being harassed by some ... Read More:

If you are familiar with Dave Barry "DAVE BARRY'S COMPLETE GUIDE TO GUYS", you will recognize his formula of starting out with some innocuous statement about a neutral subject and it builds up slowly and logically to make you thing that something totally ridicules is plausible.
Walter Davis (Bruce Willis) is required to bring a date to a company function. A relative (Phil Hartman) know for finding weird blind dates seems to have located the perfect date Nadia Gates (Kim Basinger;) the only caveat is that she is unstable when liberated. Walter was warned.
Naturally the warning must be an exaggeration as we all get a little tipsy. Nope it was right on the money. Nadia who also gives warning goes from polite to helpful ... Read More:

This one is a fascinating story, and what makes it even better is that it's based on events that actually happened. It's about a twenty-five year old reporter named Stephen Glass, who wrote for The New Republic news magazine and had an uncanny knack for coming up with vivid, memorable stories. Unfortunately, it turned out Glass's pieces were either partly or wholly fictional, and he went to great lengths (including concocting fake notes, voicemail messages, and websites) to justify his phony articles. The film chronicles his spectacular fall from grace as, slowly but surely, his deceptions crumble aroud him.
There are two things to recommend this one, the first of which is that it's one of those stories that you wouldn't believe if ... Read More:

Mark Harmon (NCIS, Chicago Hope, St Elsewhere, Freaky Friday) is a delight to watch in this light comedy about a womanising batchelor. Taylor Worth (Harmon) is both the bane and envy of his friends' lives, as they are all married, while Worth enjoys the freedom and fun of a single life. Worth accepts a bet that he will get engaged to three separate women within three months. His best friend choses the women. Then Worth falls in love....
Mark Harmon is a fine actor, but his good looks and stunning smile have controlled his career far more than his talent has. This film is a case in point. This is a fine showcase for his good looks, and is thoroughly enjoyable (although the ending is a bit weak).

This gem of a film is a perfect example of how much can be achieved with very little money, when creative people with ideas are behind and in front of the cameras. A clever story revolving solely around a string of telephone conversations (in the only scene in which the characters face each other in person, no-one says a word), it's uproariously funny and also very heartwarming. So enjoyable you never want it to end.
