And once again, little old Jacobi is back to the charge with the promise of
more yuks and huyuks than ever in the rip-roaring, funtastic,
abso-bloody-lutely awesome series, Cadfael -- well, not really.
And I might as well say "well" with the good ole Jacobian emphasis (try
WE-e-E-elll), as we're in for more Jacobian smirks than ever, ranging from the
sad, beady eyes of a French bulldog to the glittery expression of a Lutheran
heretic centuries before his time.
So, may we say that Cadfael ranks among the greatest British series of all
time? Let's have a closer look...
This is a great DVD and takes me right back to those happy lunchtimes, snuggled up to my Mum on the settee, watching the newly aired soap (only available in Yorkshire at the time, I think) when "nowt much 'appened in't Dales" and "the were nowt so queer as folk!!" No murders, sex, violence, no nothing happened really. Boring to some, but happy memories for me. Soap Saddo ....YES, that's me!!

I thought video was an exellent extra from the makers of Emmerdale. It was not only funny, well written but it also fitted in with the books perfectly. I would recomend this to any emmerdale Fan!!

A few of the cast from the TV show Emmerdale (of which 3 have now left) go to London; one to take a break, one to take a break with her, one to find revenge, one to do a job. What they find upon arrival in London is bliss, which soon turns to lies and upset, wishing they were soon back home in Emmerdale. Marlon Dingle, Kathy Glover, Roy Glover and Eric Pollard run amok in the big city, a story full of twists and turns. Great camera work, steady direction and strange unease all combine for probably the best of the feature length Emmerdale spin-offs. Very good viewing, but not to everyone's tastes.

This is maybe my favourite of the three Emmerdale video specials. This special sees Paddy taking Mandy on a surprise honeymoon to Venice, but with Zak, Butch and Marlon having to follow them after a visit from the police. While there, they find an Italian relative running a restaurant/bar which is under threat of takeover by intimidation. The story is excellently written with high drama combined with great comedy, a great location, the music score with a variation of tunes (including a Bond theme) and brilliant performances from the Italian cast as well as our Emmerdale favourites. Plus another reason for me why this video is so unique and a must-buy is because it features the only soap crossover in soap history, with Ken Morley joining the cast as his ... Read More:

This episode in the Cadfael series makes for avid viewing. Set in bleak mid winter period our hero is forced into searching the local area looking for his missing apprentice who has fallen foul to a band of marauding crusaders. During his search Cadfael comes across a mysterious corpse trapped in frozen river and after Oswin is accused of the crime, Cadfael and sets out to find the real perpretator and clear his friends name. This a fantastic episode full of intrigue and action that followers of the series will relish. Unlike some of the other adaptations the story is detailed enough to keep you guessing until the very end. There are more revelations which come to light concerning Cadfael's past. These mixed emotions Jacobi portrays with great feeling and ... Read More:

This tape is also part of Brother Cadfael Series 2 Box Set: The Devil's Novice, St. Peter's Fair and The Virgin in the Ice (1996)
You know this is going to be a good one when it starts out with a bloody face staring at you. Later there is the bragging priest and you know if he is not the one to die that he should be. And what is with the soon to be bride playing on both sides of the fence? A new novice that speaks strangely in his sleep, a missing king's chaplain who should have staid in the cars or rather not go out alone, and a mystery wild man is just the right mix for a murder mystery.
Once again Cadfael uses forensics, logic and intuition (with a little last minute information) to smoke out the truth and bring the culprit/s ... Read More:

This d.v.d takes you throught some of the most shocking and devasting storylines ever. The dvd is long but never shows you the whole episode. It takes you through The storm-to Charity found guilty-to Robert and Katie's affair (which contains secnes of them in bed and Andy and Katie's wedding)to Diane and Jack's wedding. Beware though it only goes up to September 2004 and never shows any storylines that did take place including Steph and Turner to Andy and Debbie and Sadie setting Charity up but it is a great dvb and will bring back memories but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children so be careful.
