This film is a pamphlet and as such is an essential film in our consciousness of reality the way it may be in this globalized world. It shows how the West cannot win the war in which we have engage ourselves without even thinking it over twice. The war that must be stopped at once, and at once is already too late, that war against Islam, even if we pretend at times it is only against the Arabs because we don't want to know better, this war is lost, and was lost even before starting it, because it is not a war against terror at all , but a war against those who don't want to be westernized because we have been dumb enough to pretend that the American way of life was the future of the world, once again without even thinking it over twice. Ok so after leaving the cinema back in 2007 i found that saw 4 was definatly a good sequel but there was definatly something wrong, that was the pacing and structure. 2008 and we have saw 5 which in my opinion felt alot more calm and story driven throughout, this time round new director (David Hackel) bins the quick cut editing for slow paced characterisation. while Saw 5 lacks the traditional styles of 2,3 and 4 which to most will make the film seem less exciting to others will seem a return to form and how James wan directed the original. New director David Hackel Does good work in his debut, adding a disturbing visual taste of (mentioned in another review as rust) and by keeping the story on focus we are given a straight up Saw movie that everyone ... Kurt Russell is excellent in this film in the title role. Soldier is a compelling story-driven SCI-Fi film with a message and some good FX. It's got a very good cast, and it is Paul Anderson's BEST film up to date.

I bought this because my little girl loves the story of Rapunzel but this was nothing like the original story. Yes she has long hair and yes her name is Rapunzel but that is it. She did enjoy watching it but Rapunzel it is not.

This is a film worth watching. It can be classed in the thriller/scifi genre and will entertain anyone with an interest in twisting plot lines.
Michael Douglas stars as an investment banker. His brother, Sean Penn, shows up on his birthday and offers him a rather strange present. The story proceeds from there.
The film is defective in two principal ways. Firstly, the plot itself relies upon a number of totally implausible elements which harm the integrity of the story. And secondly, the film's supporting cast (Penn included) suffer from the fact that the director underdevelops (and in my opinion undervalues) their role in the storyline. Even Douglas' character is not explored in any depth: the viewer's impression of him is always somewhat two ... Read More:

*SPOILERS CONTAINED IN THIS REVIEW*
Ashley Judd is the queen of interesting high concept stories that are rendered bland and toothless. Double Jeopardy should have been one of the greatest movies ever made, but it was a boring dud because it shied away from the moral darkness of the story. The same thing has happened to this film in my opinion.
The movie starts pretty poorly. It feels fake and contrived. I just got the feeling that it wasn't clicking, wasn't working.
Then the plot kicks in and it was quite interesting. It was more of a psychological drama than I expected as the lead character keeps blacking out, to then have to investigate murders the next day of men she had recently slept with. Is she a serial killer?
A decent enough film.. but if you google for the real story, you realise real life is infinitely sadder and real people are sickeningly more hideous than fictitious films pretend.
