I think the second series of Boston Legal may be the best one (depending on how Five comes out). All of the elements seem to be in place here: the affection between Alan and Denny, Brad chopping a priest's fingers off with an axe, Jeri Ryan... What's not to like?
Boston Legal is what TV should be. It knows that it's just a TV show, so often rips the lid off that by having Denny or Alan comment on just that. That the other characters don't seem to recognise that they're on television is just as funny, especially in later episodes where Denise and the new lawyer engage in Looney Tunes style chases, that involve them crashing into opening drawers of filing cabinets.
Looking at the other reviews I can see that people still think Boston Legal to be as good as it ever was. This is not my opinion. For me this season is where the series lost its way. Jerry Espenson, the assbergers (apologies if spelt incorrectly) sufferer became a semi-regular cast member in this series and this is where it began to lose its way. Jerry worked fine as a rare guest star but it appeared that all involved with the show thought his character to be so good that we simply had to have him every single week. Personally, whenever Jerry is on screen I lose all interest and find his antics irritating. Thankfully the brilliant double-act of James Spader and William Shatner is still prevalent. The other cast members (no idea who they are by the ... Read More:

This tv series is a very humorous and sometimes serious take on the legal profession and a particular group of male and female lawyers.
It's hard to imagine real lawyers having the freedom to speak to one another and to judges and other people as openly and abruptly as these lawyers do.If you watch the programme and don't take it too seriously it is certainly entertaining - I don't usually watch legal - based dramas/programmes but I managed to watch 17 episodes of boston legal in 3 days.Be warned though:if you don't like men constantly talking about sex and throwing inuendo around an office then steer clear of what's on offer here.James spader and william shatner are relentless in their pursuit of their female colleagues and any other women.

I must disagree with the previous reviewers regarding the political bias. There is political bias, but they do attack both Republican and Democrat candidates fairly equaly. And George W more than ever.
They attack the hypocrisy of the American election system, rather than just the Republicans. The series has always stood up for the individual against the system / big business / whatever, and continues to do so.
I found it as entertaining as the three previous series.
I also found the following quote in Simon Schama's "Dead Certainties" -
from the New York Sunday Morning News of 1850:
"Abraham Oakley Hall found the trial "unmistakably Bostonian" in its complacent contempt for hard evidence and its ... Read More:

THE SIEGE starts out great, but the ending is just overly moral preaching and very very poor. A total waste of time and one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Antikiller 2 Russian film about Chechnian terrorists

This film has suffered very, very bad publicity and very, very bad reviews. But if you choose to see it open-minded, you might just get to like this mess.
"The Next Best Thing" initially sets itself up as a comedy. Robert (played by Rupert Everett) is always there for his best friend (Abbie), especially when it comes to comfort her over her terrible taste in men. And since he's also keen on men, he gives her a few pointers along the way. However, after a few drinks (and an unbelievably entertaining Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers act), Abbie gets pregnant. The viewer is then quite surprised when the whole thing turns serious and chaotic as Robert and Abbie decide to live and raise the baby together, and then struggle with problems concerning their family, friends ... "Boston Legal" is that rare American show that is both intelligent and original. The result is a completely compelling and engrossing "tele-visual feast".
The almost magical chemistry between Shatner and Spader is remarkable to behold. This is a casting coup if there ever was one. Their relationship is beautifully played and completely life affirming. It is so good to see William Shatner being given the chance to perform in a part that demands of his talent. He has always been an extraordinary showman and it is a crime that it has taken so long to acknowledge just how good he is.
Spader has a charm and perverseness as an actor that is hard to quantify. He has such allure and grace. His delivery of such ... Read More:

What i find crazy is how people can complain about this series and this show. Perhaps you forget that half the cast walked out at the end of season 3 of David E. Kelley (the creator and writer) was forced to think fast and bring in many new characters and take the show into a new direction. This season comprises 20 fantastic episodes which untimately tie up the show with the last episode meant to act as a final episode but youll be pleased to hear BL has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
The season starts of very strong and i'll admit perhaps somewhere in the middle the show looses slight of the story as it has always done in the other three seasons but yes, post strike Boston legal comes back with 6 kiss ass episodes which are just fastastic. I ... Read More:
