This film will suck you in and spit you back out again. Its a hard-hitting movie about the dangers of addiction of all sorts and how easily addiction can take hold - whether it's an addiction like TV viewing, or cigs, coffee, slimming pills, or dope, speed, or heroin - they can all push you over the edge. This is also a film about choices, and how bad choices can so easily lead us deeper into the mud. Beneath the surface of this very funny film is a great piece of commentary on wealth, class and ignorance. The film manages to make race a total non issue despite the title, which a lot of paranoid whitey ego'ists will not make it past for fear of how they are percieved. This film is another ludicrous film starring the two Wayans Brothers 'Shawn and Marlon' who have a habit of churning out moderately funny films. The title is fantastic but the film fails to live up to it's humorous title. Why does Kenan Ivory Wayans love popping up in his films? He is the least funny of the brothers but i understand that he is the man behind the cameras directing, writing and/or producing. The very unfunny Kim Wayans also makes an appearance as i believe so do a couple of other Wayans brothers. If you want to see a funny Wayans brothers film watch 'White chicks' or 'Mo money' which isn't that funny but is a really good film. Also try to get hold of the old 'In Living colour' dvds. A group of teenagers are targeted by a serial killer exactly one year after they ran over a man. In 1996 Scream was a film that reinstated the slasher horror genre and Keenan Ivory Wayans' spoof is a true and funny testament to that horror classic. Modern spoofs often contain slapstick humour, stereotypes and a fairly predictable plot. This is evident with this 2000 hit and is pure silly entertainment that you can't help but love and laugh along with despite the conventional approach. I like Scary Movie 2 but it really sick and grucesome. Some scenes are so gross, I felt sick. I thought this film was funny and that it had a good story to it. Basically its a little guy who just gets out of prison and he tries to rob and he gets a diamond. When he gets it he ends up getting caught up with a young couple who soon want to have children. He pretends to be a baby and he acts like it the whole way through with some funny parts in it and in the end they find out he isnt a baby and he leaves. ove The Rim is a fairly simplistic sports film, masquerading as a serious critique of the depressing nature of young black life in America. This simplistic nature is painfully evident in the clichÃ©d and predictable plot and the characterisations, with the overstated villains in particular (who always seem to wear black - subtle!) appearing very shallow and cartoonish. When an attempt is made to flesh out the backstory of one of the characters (Shep) however, it comes across as very repetitive and most of these scenes (not helped by the wooden acting from 'Leon') fall flat and damage the pacing of the film.
