With the two big-name stars and direction from Michael Bay this should be a treat for fans of the original, but any premise of a story is lost amid a blur of tiresome dialogue and explosive action sequences. This movie will appeal to young boys and men who spend too much time with their playstations.

I'm a big fan of action films, with cop movies topping the bill. Having read the other reviews here I had high hopes for this film - I ignored the occasional negative review reasoning that any film with Will Smith in it can't be that bad. How wrong I was!

The cinematography is lush and colourful, helped significantly by the Miami backdrop. And that is about as far as my compliments can reach I'm afraid - the film rapidly falls apart from the first moment the characters open their mouths.

The script here is utterly dreadful! Whilst similar untaxing commercial offerings such as the likes of Lethal Weapon or Die Hard give you witty and slick lines, Bad Boys instead resorts to perpetual bickering between the protagonists. It ... Read More:

Two young men (Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence) are paired together by circumstance in 1932 New York City; while travelling in the South, they are framed for murder and are sent to Mississippi State Prison where they spend the majority of their lives (over fifty years!).

For me, what really made it work was seeing Murphy and Lawrence work together, and they are really, really good. The material has both plenty of humor and some very serious, heartfelt moments. Other assets include Wyclef Jean's music score, amusing supporting performances by Obba Babatunde, Nick Cassavetes, Bernie Mac, et al., and writing that is actually decent. Thanks to Rick Baker's fantastic makeup effects, Murphy's and Lawrence's characters actually look their ages at ... Read More:

"Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins," one of the better recent efforts from the funny wing of Black Hollywood. (It is certainly better than "First Sunday.") The film is written and directed by Malcolm D. Lee, who directed but did not write the hilarious 2002 film "Undercover Brother." Lee definitely has some jokes in this one--especially involving canine love--but it seems likely that the film's comedic quartet offered some choice jokes to the script and fed off of each other, upping the comedic ante as they went along.

Roscoe (Martin Lawrence), is a talk show host who is depicted as a decent but ambitious man who revels in the celebrity life he shares with his fiancé, Bianca Kittles (Joy Bryant). As a winner of the television show, "Survival," Bianca ... Read More:

I really enjoyed this film. In fact I must have liked it, considering over the past couple of months I have been remembering some of the scenes from it, which leads me to believe this is a must have in my DVD collection.

I found this movie to not only be moving, but had some really great performances. Lets leave out Mr. Murphy for a moment and think about some of the others who really gave it their all. For instance, the lovely and talented Halle Berry. I think this movie really was able to show some depth, which helped in kick starting her movie career. David Alan Grier, well I think he did such a great job and probably not given as much credit as he should have had when this movie came out. Bravo Mr. Grier! You were the man up on that roof! OH! and ... Read More:
