I got this for my husband who is rather a Tolkien fan, despite my having seen the cinema-release editions several times. I had thought that there would be a few chunks added mainly to satisfy the devotees, but what emerged seems to be the films that Jackson really wanted to make, and then had to chop down to three hours to be more marketable. The additions are usually small and frequent: a few lines or a shot or two and occasionally a whole scene added or reworked, but they are not padding - they do add to the story by adding background history of the characters and explaining aspects of the plot. The stories run better as a result and almost seem like different films altogether and very much improved, you really don't notice the extended ... Read More:

9/10 for picture, clear and crisp from start to finish, from the subtle forests of Europe to the sharp deserts of Arabia, very good, very nice resolution's in fantastic 1080p
10/10 for sound, blew me away, excellent
10/10 for the movie, great acting, Bloom especially, and the legend that is Leeson, very entertaining great for a Saturday night, but very lengthy and you really have to sit down and watch it to take in the aurora and environment of the film, i think whoever you are and whatever movies you like you will enjoy this ( unless of course you're prejudice against all races) :)

A magnificently beautiful film. Remaining loyal to the book, Peter Jackson has made a huge leap from his earlier (and FANTASTIC) blood-soaked gore-fests (BAD TASTE, MEET THE FEEBLES and BRAINDEAD) - keep your eye out for a cameo from Lionel's mother from BRAINDEAD as a hobbit in the extended version of this. The action is brilliant, the shots are stunning, the special effects are breath-taking, the acting is superb, and the music is beyond phonemenol. Definetly one of the greatest film (if not the greatest trilogy) since 2000. A MUST SEE!"

Jason Bourne (Damon) is still on the run and when he is framed, he is once again looking for answers to his past.
Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting) reprises his role as the man suffering from amnesia in this action packed thriller which delivers more action than its predecessor, which sadly doesn't have the consistent silent sophistication the previous instalment delivered so well.
Starting with a flashback, viewers are thrust right back into Bourne's life, giving the viewer a chance to work out for themselves what Bourne's previous life entailed.
What follows is a passionate turn of events and a soft tear jerking unpredictable scene. This event, though only ten or twenty minutes in, turns the plot around and delivers a gritty and ... Read More:

Some films just get made simply because so much time and money has been wasted developing them that it almost seems unthinkable not to make them even though everyone at the studio has long since lost interest. Case in point The Great Raid, one of Miramax's infamous shelf-hoggers. Initially intended as a Steven Spielberg-Tom Cruise vehicle before they got a better offer from the Martians, it finally went before the cameras in Australia and China in 2002 with the less than A-list combo of director John Dahl and an underpowered cast headed by Benjamin Bratt, James Franco, Joseph Fiennes and Connie Nielson only for Harvey Scissorhands to spend three years tinkering with the cut (Disney later claimed that, like the 45 other films still on the shelf at the time they parted ... A blatant James Bond imitator, this 2002 stunt and gadget laden spy adventure boasted how it was going to usurp 007's throne by providing "a new breed of hero" in the form of shaven headed, tattoed extreme sports star, Xander Cage, played by Vin Diesel. It labours this claim by opening with a Bond style agent being killed in embarrassing circumstances. As it turned out, few people were tired with the "old style" agent, as box office profits for that year's Bond, Die Another Day, soon put paid to Vin Diesal's crowing about 007 being old hat.
The problem with Xander Cage was that his grunge image was never going to win over the female following that 007's more refined but dark persona commanded; I mean, ladies, Vin Diesal or Piece Brosnan? Which one would you prefer ... Read More:
