I bought this film (on budget DVD) as a last-minute impulse purchase. It was one of several movies bought for a girlie weekend in: the only one I'd never heard of before... and the only one I would EVER voluntarily watch again (indeed, I already have: thrice).
This is a beautifully-crafted story about love, families and lies. With superbly pitched performances by all concerned and a NOT straightforward ending. HIGHLY recommended.

Our Christmas visit to London introduced us to "Balamory" - not only did my 2 year old enjoy it, but my eleven and nine year olds loved watching it too! I love the stories and how they repeat twice "what's the story in balamory today" (very much like the repetitiveness of "Blues Clues"). I am so excited that we have the player to watch this DVD here in the States. I highly recommend it to anyone with preschool age children.

Any Balamory item is good in my children's eyes. Fun real-life characters with recognisable traits and different coloured houses. Archie is lovable!

Well what can I say! This will be the sixth DVD in the Balamory collection. Following titles such as "What the story Miss Hoolie?" "Mysteries with PC Plum" and "Archie's inventions" I was not sure what would come next. But as soon as I saw that the BBC would be releasing "Balamory - Panto and other stories" I knew we would be in for a treat! In this fun filled adventure we will see all our favourite Balamory characters dressing up in elaborate costume and taking part in a Christmas pantomime! We will see PC Plum dressed in drag, Edie as a butler, Spencer as Buttons and Miss Hoolie as a "Beautiful" Princess! This DVD will make a perfect present for your child (or even teen) and will make the whole family role with laughter. On a more ... Read More:

I got this video for my 15 month old little girl after seeing it on holiday in Spain one unfortunately rainy day.
The gangs all here and they will have you singing along in no time. In the first story (one of three) 'the missing scarecrow' Edie McCredie has noticed that the nurseries newly planted seeds are being gobbled up by some birds so she's off to see PC Plum in the hope of tracking the scarecrow down.
Story two is 'the sing along machine' what's going on? something or someone is keeping all the Balamory residence awake, Miss Hoolies quick thinking leads PC Plum to Archie who is testing a new but noisy invention.
Story three is 'litter bug' and someone is dropping rubbish outside Penny Pocket and Suzie Sweets ... Read More:
