his films are LEGendary...but out of all that i have seen this one seems to stand out the most...and is one of the most hilarious comedies that i have ever seen!!
DIVINE is fantastic in every scene he's in...he will be missed. it is occasionally vulgar but all for good measure and although gross out it has a hard impact that makes you feel for the characters...and what characters they are:P aunt ida is scene stealing. its basically a really dirty carry on movie...only far classier...and arguably more enjoyable...may offend some people(ie south park before south park)a genuinely great film from the pope of trash(but its so much more than that)john waters has to be one of my favourite directors due to him taking the fun out of ... anyone who has watched a john walters film can normally sum up any of his film as they are all as equally as camp...unfortunatlly divine is not in this one,but as always we have the repulsive,but oddly loveable edith massey there to add a bit of charm(though not for her ability as an actress) as always the plot of any j.w film is totally irrellevant as they are meant for shock value and general level of sleaze. but,for a night of jaded humour on a night in it is a film you could watch again and again as it is a very fun film with a lot of dark surreal scenes. p.s , you dont have to be weird to enjoy it! ..........martin davies

John Waters has been an inspiration, a guide in good (bad) taste and a personal hero since I was 13. 24 years later nothing has changed and this DVD box-set was a joy. It's like being shot in the head by your favourite member of the Manson Family or joining a sickening cult who relentlessly coerce you into getting a life.
I'm biased of course. I think John Water's movies should be obligatory by law. However I do have some questions...like where the hell is Multiple Maniacs and why has Serial Mom been omitted from the list? What you DO get are classics like Pink Flamingos in which the protagonists struggle to prove themselves to be the filthiest people alive, while Desperate Living has the greatest Backwards Day ... This is my favourite movie of all time. Follow Dawn Davenports twisted but very funny life as she heads to the grande finale!, the electric chair!. John Waters early movie's are not really for the faint hearted, so avvoid if your stuck watching "Freinds" and "Big brother" ritually. If you love independant movies, and like something that is very different, and your have a slightly sick sense of humour, watch this movie.
