i've heard nothing but great things about this so i got a copy of the 2 disc version and sat down expecting to be entertained disney style!!!
what a load of rubbish, first of all james earl jones has and always will be (unfortunetly for him) darth vader and i was just waiting for him to say to simba "i am your father" but its the story and the songs thats the biggest problem.the story has been seen 100 times before(i won't spoil it just in case you want to see the film) and for me just didn't work, the songs written by elton john are just poor they just don't fit the film, just think of classic disney songs/music used in disney films of the past dumbo, fantastia, snow white and of course the jungle book all great films where the songs ... Throughout my life I have often wondered if their is life after death... After watching this load of garbage, I am now asking is their life before death.

Quite possibly the worst film. Ever.

A rousing story about a black platoon facing prejudice and annilation during the American civil war. Matthew Broderick's finest performance as the leader of the first all black regiment fighting the confederates and racism from their own Union army. Supported by the fine Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. The plight of these brave men will emotionally move you, possibly to tears, although mine was more of a controlled welling, though my lower lip did quiver when the credits rolled.

This is a lovely fantasy movie. All actors & actresses perfectly cast. Can't say enough good things about it.But,having watched it again recently...after many years...and even then remembering how awful the score/music was,I was shocked that it hadn't even aged well from awful. It has GOT TO BE THE WORST SCORE ever attached to a movie.Bar none.Forget the fuss created with LEGEND's Tangerine Dream or Jerry Goldsmith scores...THIS awful score is so irritating & totally misplaced in this movie that I had to actually hit the mute button for every "action scene".Great movie, without the sound.

A classic 80s comedy, and a film very close to my heart. I was at the right age to appreciate it when it was first released, and its been a constant companion ever since. What boy wouldn't want to be Ferris Bueller after watching this?! He takes everything to the extreme, and somehow manages to get away with it.

A brilliantly funny film, with an amzing soundtrack - whats not to like?

A brilliant film that stands the test of time. This movie depicts a day in the life of Ferris, who decides to take the day off school by outwitting the adults in his life. This is Matthew Broderick at his best and features Jennifer Grey before Patrick Swayze got his hands on her in "Dirty Dancing".

Max Bialystock (Nathan Lane) is a loser as a Broadway producer, but his accountant Leo Bloom (Matthew Broderick) helps him come with up with a plan to produce the worst show ever on the Great White Way, one they know will close after only one performance, and then abscond with the money they raised. The show they're sure will bomb is called "Springtime for Hitler."

Based on Mel Brooks' Broadway musical that was based on his non-musical movie, this is pretty much a filmed stage play starring the play's two leads, Lane and Broderick. I like Nathan Lane, but this is too much of a good thing; he's too loud, too mincing, and too broad and is exhausting to watch. Broderick is full of wide-eyed, Ferris Bueller-charm and likeability, but he is tiresome ... Read More:

You dont have to be Gay or `Straight' to watch this SUPPERB film !! It is a classic. Oh..... so funny, moving and tragic. All the cast need to be mentioned as they all shine in their individual roles. Harvey, as Arnold, is just fantastic and Anne Bancroft as his Jewish mother, trying to get him married off......... to a woman !! is awesome. Anne plays a jewish mother with campness !!!

An excellent film. The best part for me, is when he goes down to colleage, where his adopted son attends in his dressing gown and rabbit slippers !!!

For those who have never heard of this film and wish to give it ago, remember it is from a Broadway Play, written by the main actor in the film, Harvey, so at the beginning, you will see the main character, ... Read More:
