I first saw portions of this movie enroute back to London - in flight entertainment system was re-booted several times by the captain and so i could not enjoy the film, let alone see the end of it.
Anyway, since that time i have seen the entire movie and there are some funny bits in it. Good chemistry between the 2 leading actors and great locations.
The underwater footage is also good and the start of the film is epic. Not that epic, but better than good and not as shallow as great.

This film is so funny and also at the end very romantic. The chemistry betwwen Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey is really good and the acting is belivable. The story line is original and unique with parts that will make you laugh and parts that will make you want to hide under the cushion 'casue of the cringiness she causes to him.
The story is basiclly about a girl who is a journalist and wants to write more serious stuff but her boss says that she can't, she comes up with an idea "how to lose a guy in 10 days", then he on the other hand agrees to a bet with someone that he can take someone that loves him to a party. I won't tell any more.!! But it's a completely enjoyable film. Maybe not for families but for a night in, or if you ... Read More:

When a 12 year old black girl is raped, beaten and almost murdered by two racist, redneck pigs, the little girl's father shoots both of them dead whilst they are being taken to trial.
He committed murder, he is as guilty as sin and nobody believes otherwise.
On the contrary in fact, the main question in this film is whether a black man should be allowed to take vengeance against whites.
Indeed, having based the defendant's entire case on the lie that he was 'temporarily insane,' the killer's attorney spells out this fact at the end of the film by asking the jury to imagine the little girl's attack and then asking "NOW IMAGINE SHE'S WHITE."
My brother warned me not to watch this film, so to annoy him I watched it with him. Overall it's well made with good acting and enjoyable. Theres a point in all films like this, that you start trying to guess whats going on. I started throwing suggestions at my brother with everyone came the reply "no it's not as good as that". This carried on untill the end when I could not believe what I saw. This film builds and builds only to ultimately dissapoint. I've warned you about the ending. If your at all cynical stay away, if pap is what your after lap some of this up.

Something about this just bored me to tears. A stupid, selfish film which showed no regard for anyone, simply to justify what many women think about men who live at home with their parents still and haven't bothered to get into the real world. There is nothing clever or arty about this movie, it is a simple chick flick, that is all. Why would this be a funny way to pass the time? Both characters bounced off each other with a dull absurdity but I really disliked it I'm afraid.

In The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez acts as a woman who sets up weddings for other people but who is very cynical about the
ceremony herself (we find out why during the course of the film). She falls in love with Matthew Mcconaughey who is engaged to one of her friends and tries to do the right thing by helping them to get married. The Wedding Planner, itself, tries to be an old-fashioned movie from fifty or so years ago set in modern times. It succeeds in doing this but there are big errors in the script (in one instance the characters are delivered some news that in real life I'm sure would have left people speechless but in the storyline they accept with nonchalance).Nevertheless,Mcconaughey and Lopez are engaging enough to make this a film worth seeing.
And with all the sets for ... Read More:

There is is virtually no football so it isn't really a sports movie. We only get to learn about one character, the new coach. He is an outsider to the catastrophe that has hit Marshall, so the film flops at an emotional level. There is tradegy and emotion but there is no journey.
The key moment in the whole Marshall story was the decision by the adminstrators to carry on with the football programme. That was dealt with very badly in the film.
I should say that the actors are not at fault for this film failing. The fault is with the writers and director. To not produce at least an average film, about such a great story, is a crying shame.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone as entertainment. As a piece of social history, ... Read More:

I love this film. It shows the very human struggle to survive after they've been knocked from the top of the food chain. It blends medievil mythology with a modern era breathlessly. Definately an original take on Man vs Dragon. Now to get this straight, this is a film about Humans, not about Dragons. The dragons merely supply the unique reason for the apocalypse. This is a film about the post-apocalypse, not the apocalypse. It's not about skies full of Dragons turning worldwide armed forces into ash on an epic scale. It's not about Dragons setting the world, quite literally, on fire. It's about after all that's happened.
Which is a shame this was advertised as a film about Dragons burning all life as we know it. Of course, everyone goes in expecting to see 90 minutes of Dragons destroying everything. ... Read More:

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, possibly one of my favourite movies - it will make you laugh out loud and make you feel good for a long time after watching it. Although possibly a far fetched story line, it has good morals, is believeable and the characters make you fall in love with them from the beginning. Enough said - go and watch it! Sliding Doors - It has been a while since I last saw this movie, purely because I find Gwenyth Paltrow so wet and annoying. The story line is good and puts raises a lot of questions - what if?? Definitely watch this one especially if you don't find Gwenyth Paltrow as irritating as I do. Ghost - an absolute classic if, a bit dated. Brilliantly cast, Whoopi Goldberg steals the show in this movie that will have you laughing out loud, make you cry and at the end you will feel ... Read More:

Many Americans enjoy this movie as the quintessential teen movie. Is it accurate? Not really. But it is fun. It's a movie that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. It's just a stoner movie that is beloved by many who lived through the American high school experience. As I'm not British, I don't know how well it crosses the cultural divide. Apparantly some American phraseology is annoying such as "freshman" but really, this movie is not about Brits and doesn't have to cater to those who can't be bothered to enjoy a movie from another country. In the States we say "freshman" and "sophomore" and this movie is portraying an American high school, not a British one.
