Much of this season is good old reliable ER, well acted, well produced with a good mix of storylines. The characters (mostly) continue to develop in plausible and interesting ways.
The return to the Congo is well done and genuinely tense. On the other hand the incident with Romano (I won't give it away) is a real low point and whoever wrote the script for that should have been fired. The aftermath is also silly and unconvicing, and indeed some of it not in keeping with what we know from previous series. But that is only one storyline and there are many more that more than make up for that blip in the producers' judgment.
Overall, it may not be as fresh and novel as the first season, but if you're an ER fan then ... Read More:

Sometimes... just sometimes... you find yourself watching a film for purely superficial reasons. Such is the case with this one, Honey, which I am ashamed to say I saw because I heard it featured Jessica Alba in a variety of small, tight, and small and tight outfits. Also, she gyrates quite a bit. Phew... what was I talking about? Oh yes, Honey, which is a film about a sassy young thing (Alba) who dances and tries to help some underprivileged kids... with dancing. That's it, really.
Speaking as a guy who's a bit too old and unhip for this kind of thing, I didn't enjoy Honey very much. It's all very ham-fisted and cliched, the dialogue had me cringing in quite a few places, and Alba (bless her) continues to be a terrible actress. She isn't ... Read More:

Whilst being seen as the beginning of the end as such, season 9 is still in no way inferior television. It begins very fast paced, and you actually feel sorry for Romano, who shines this season as a well acted but also very funny character. Abby's family problems are once again a major part of the season, no bad thing as Sally Field is excellent as usual. Mekhi Phifer really fits in well, and I have to admit that Carter's acting skill has definitely improved. To the point where I enjoyed his performances.
And I strangely like Susan Lewis. Her latter storyline is a bit weird, but overall she was very good. And there was a fire this season, at Doc Magoo's, ensuring my 'one fire a season' theory remains in place.
I suggest you buy it. No ... Read More:

I loved the film from beginning to end even though I am not a fan of Christmas, it was more focused on family. It wasn't a predictable storyline which made it more interesting, I will definitely watch it again and share it around. It had some laughter, some tears and some fighting, everything you need for a perfect Christmas lol.

Such comparisons may very well be lazy. But more than that, they're true.
Take an urban kid living in trailer park squalor. Give him dreams of music and an ability beyond his intelligence. And a spirit-crushing job. All you need to do is give him a child-beating father and you've got Purple Rain.
But it's much better than that. Gone are the fancy flourishes of 80's rock flicks. Gone are the wild concert sequences and the embarrassing hair styles. What you've got is a film that reflects the bored, hopeless existence of trailer park America in a way as compelling as anything since the nihilistic Kids.
I love this film, it shouldn't really be compared to the original as it is it's own film and should be considered in that respect.
The first scenes of zombie action are amazing, they are quite shocking and just consider how you would react to witnessing this sort of thing going on!
I never get tired of watching this film and after seeing it several times on tv I finally got around to buying the dvd and was impressed with the extras included, if you are a fan there is plenty on there to keep things interesting.
It's a pity that others in the series such as Land of the Dead were such a terrible disappointment!

I haven't read or seen Othello of which this film is supposed to be a modern version so I judge it as a normal screenplay. It showed how nasty young men and women can be,how powerful and negative the emotion of jealousy is,the acting was good,I thought the outcome of the film a little unlikely, there were interesting but unexciting scenes of basketball matches with, it must be said, some amazing skill on display.
For me personally, the script was a bit too intellectual and boring, particularly where we hear Josh Hartnett's thoughts on wanting to be a bird that can fly, but having said this, much of the dialogue was credible and kept me watching.I would expect "O" to be liked a lot more by anyone who has actually been at a boarding school of some kind.
