Unfortunately, this is no longer the Ultimate Video Collection. I guess we'll have to wait until "Weird Al" retires or dies for that. However, if you get this and his latest album Straight Outta Lynwood, you'll have a fantastic collection of songs and videos that will keep you entertained and amused for a very long time. Most of the songs on here are parodies. They cover lots of different styles of music - folky, pop, rap, soul, rock and grunge. And Weird Al nails every single one. A superb musician, singer and arranger. This man should be huge here in the UK but for some reason, he's not. I don't know why. Buy this. It's brilliant. And so cheap!! >>More Details

now it may be a classic, but i'm afraid i was really disappointed with this film. my 5 yr old was frankly bored watching this, it was very slow to get moving. the story line was not what i was expecting. the jimmney cricket / conscience was to abstract for him to understand in the way it was presented. and there was a terrible bit later on with pinnochio getting drunk and smoking cigars. that bit raised a few tricky questions. what i had expected the main story line to be - pinnochio's nose growing long when he lied, occured only once for about 20 seconds in the middle of the film and never again. we will not be watching this one again sadly not enjoyable or educational >>More Details

In the UK, the first episode was shown when I was a child, but it was presented as a film, and not as a series, and the remaining parts were never shown. I loved every bit it. As kids do, I watched it many many times. It was a nice surprise to find out that the film was actually a pilot for 2 seasons of sci-fi. I've bought both, and enjoy all the episodes. One interesting thing, is the cover. When it arrived, I read the part about being frozen in the arctic, and was sure he was frozen in space for 500 years. Well, I had remembered correctly, and somehow the marketing guys just made an amusing mistake. >>More Details

I captured this on video some twenty years ago, but, unfortunately, missed recording the first five minutes. Never mind, it has been a perennial Christmas favourite. Despite the passage of years, it still comes out each December. In fact, if it were not for this film I would probably not have retained my video player! A month ago, I left my previous job and was rewarded with a multi region DVD recorder/player. I immediately sent off for the DVD via Amazon. I can now see the whole film!! The film is a marvellous evocation of a by-gone era, but one we would all like to still experience. The cast is consistently excellent, the musical accompaniment subtle, appropriate and totally unevasive, and the film captures the mood and spirit of Dickens' book (even if there are some ...
