Lester Burnham's (Spacey) life is reawaken when he meets Angela Hayes (Suvari).
This 1999 Oscar winning picture is regarded as Mendes' finest and with a fine realistic styled direction it is easy to see why. Dramas can often be ruined when a can of clichés is opened but Mendes keeps a grounded direction all the way through and uses a variety of techniques to achieve the ultimate shocking effect. From a simple but effective sweeping shot of the suburban residency to the artistic and now infamous fantasy sequences, Mendes maintains the realism in the film's context. Besides The Spirits Within, this is one of the best CGI films ever made. The graphics were just so amazing. its almost real life. and im sure, in future, that many films will use CGI instead of real people.
This story will only be clear if you have played the original Final Fantasy VII. this story is quite short and somehow doesn't relate very much to the original game, but it's a very good spin-off movie showing what really happened after the events of FFVII. >>More Details |

I bought this film as I love watching films set in the 60s era, added to which Edie Sedgewick became something of a legend after her death and I was intrigued to see what was so special about this woman.
Despite a fantastic performance by Guy Pearce, who played the fickle and (in my opinion) largely talentless Andy Warhol, I was truly disappointed in the lack-lustre performances of the 'supporting cast' and, I am sorry to say, in Sienna Miller's portrayal of the leading lady. One of the cover recommendations is that, "Sienna Miller's performance cannot be bettered". I would wholeheartedly agree with that statement - I think the part was far too big for her and she failed to capture the complex character that Edie Sedgewick undoubtedly was. ... I bought this film as I love watching films set in the 60s era, added to which Edie Sedgewick became something of a legend after her death and I was intrigued to see what was so special about this woman.

From the back of the box i was expecting a bridget jones type of movie with emphasis on the tarts and vicars scene but i was sadly disappointed and felt like i had been ripped off with my purchase.

This is one of my favourite films ever! i never ever understood why there's 1 star rating's of it, i think its got a really really good story, its based on the real life domino harvey, its got great action in it, its got lafs in it, its got some romance and got a very likeable cast, keira knightley is amazing in the film, along with the rest of the cast, i strongly recomend this film to any action lover, or to any one who is reading this review and has searched for this film, you wont be dissapointed its amazing!

"Beauty Shop" is totally satisfying light fare. I cannot imagine any female not having a good time watching this movie. Queen Latifah definitely has the acting moxie to carry this story as its star. Kevin Bacon is wonderfully fun as the gay hair guru. Get this and enjoy.
